Cowboys owner Jerry Jones praised head coach Mike McCarthy several times after the game last night. “I can’t say enough about how Mike has prepared this team the last two weeks, how he came out of training camp. I give him an extraordinary amount of credit here. He’s doing a great job leading that coaching staff, but he’s the busiest man in North Texas because he’s calling the plays, doing the offense plus doing the coaching. … Y’all give him his due here. He’s got a lot to do with how these two games have come out.”

Jones also joked multiple times about Tony Pollard getting carries late in the fourth quarter. Jerry laughing: “Well, we’ve got to have something to criticize.”

Meanwhile, the Sean Payton led Broncos are 0-2. Payton, who everyone wanted, whose resume was virtually no better than McCarthy.

I'm a McCarthy fan - he's done an amazing job with this team from the day her arrived (bolstered by adding Quinn and Parsons no doubt, but still great coaching).

Meh...When does Jerry really ever make sense anyway?

Another great example it’s all about the talent.

Yes, good coaching can optimize talent and most of all gather talent but it starts with the talent.

It’s why most coaches don’t have the same level of success at all venues.

I breathed a huge sigh of relief when they didn't trade picks for Payton. He's a product of Drew Brees. Otherwise, he's just another head coach.

This same man kept Garrett for a decade so I'm a little skeptical

The bigger point is why is it necessary .
Diehardblues, Jerry is 80 years old and I don't think he has the energy to be subversive. He is no modern day Nicolo Machiavelli.

Ownership and figurehead general managing has given him a platform to do what he loves to do and that is to be the Cowboys chief spin doctor in the media.
