Jerry: Give McCarthy his due

Never understood the criticism of McCarthy. He has done a great job with this team.

Well there were quite a few very questionable play calls in the worst possible situations over the last two years. And whether that was KM or not, it was his responsibility after all.

But this year he has been flawless so far. Nice.

Im not a Payton fan but I’d argue the NFL is more talent driven . HC’s can optimize the talent and of course assemble talent but ultimately greater talent usually overcomes.

It’s why some of the greatest HOF coaches in NFL history haven’t been able to duplicate their success at other venues or with the same level of talent .
