I have to say, I never saw this coming. I've been right on Jerry since the Jimmy split but I never forecasted what we have now. An indolent front office.

I never thought the issues would be lack of trying. Lack of risking. Lack of going for it. I just thought those efforts would be filled with complete incompetence. We'd be in eternal cap hell not because we were afraid to spend but because of overspending every year. Because of all those going for it moves blowing up in our face. Which would lead to an assembly line of short term head coaches, one after the other, and not you get a decade and you get a decade.

This goes against everything he's been about his entire life and you wouldn't expect in his last years that he'd get less impatient.

Where we are right now doesn't surprise me. How we've gotten here in recent years has.

This version of Jerry Jones I never saw coming.
I don’t think it’s Jerry calling most of the shots anymore. I think it is his incompetent clown of a son.

He’s Jerry Jones minus the risk taking go for it all mentality with a hint of cheapskate tossed in. He’s terrible.

Nah, it's Jerry. He's said things the last few years and left enough bread crumbs to let us know he's still making decisions. Now has the son influenced his thinking, maybe. But at the end of the day this is all on Jerry. He's failed the fanbase.

The worst part here is that these things should be wake up calls. When you sit out FA and bomb the season, that should be a lesson. When you drag your feet on your HC and he basically gives you the finger, that should be a lesson.

The message around The Star today should be, "What are we doing here? We need to rethink what we are doing............"

Instead, these lessons only make Jerry more stubborn. He's so obsessed with being right and having people praise his football acumen that when things just fall apart around him, instead of admitting mistakes, he just doubles down. Because any concession on his part, he thinks chips away at what he's trying to accomplish personally.

This franchise is now completed handcuffed to a narcissist. There is no better future as long as he (and his son) are calling the shots. It's actually really depressing at this point.

Jerry will never see a SB win in Dallas again and there will be no one to blame but himself.

I think Stephen Jones is the one that has brought this side out of Jerry. "Pops what we've been doing isn't working we have to be more frugal and not take big home runs swings" basically is how the past 15 or so years have felt to me.

I've said the same. We've gone from moves like the Galloway trade that were idiotic but at least well-intentioned, to not even trying. This year was the most predictable I can ever remember -- we all saw in the offseason that we were going to take a step back when we lost all those contributors and didn't even try to replace them.

Either he's just let his cheap son influence him too much, or he's lost his fire and mellowed in his old age, or something else. He did make sure to assert himself with the Lance trade and the Mingo trade and the Zeke re-sign, but none of those cost much money.

If they weren't first in cash flow by a mile and we didn't know Jerry's vast real estate holdings around Frisco and all over DFW had skyrocketed, you'd almost think there might be some kind of financial problems with the other businesses, but I don't see how that could be the case.

Too bad we don't have any decent journalists to tell us what is actually happening within the family.

I feel bad for the younger fans. They've never known the Cowboys to be a successful organization. Hopefully one day, that will change.
The “younger” fans are pushing 40. I’m 36 and I’ve known nothing but let down from jerry and the Cowboys.
