he has to go after at least 1 big FA or trade......

after our loss and how we got beat, I'm not that confident in the O....its like we have weapons...but only 1 true WR who is explosive...and 1 WR is is still Raw, but explosive

yes i know, we just need to get the line Fixed, get rid of barber n maybe Garret as well......but i feel we need a big splash to get everyone talking, even us as cowboys fan, to make us look even more dangerous then we are...and too have the whole league scared

i think we should really go after Marshall, if we can trade RW11(who i haven't given up on yet, but come on) lets do it, josh has already shown he will settle for a less headache, i mean Cutler for orton? who the heck would have made that at that point?

i say we go after another Threat, either in the draft or trade.....WR or another pass rusher(DE) with our secondary, another pass rusher wouldn't hurt

Yep, lets trade away some more number one picks for WR's. It has worked well so far.

The Oline is a different story. But if we are going to revamp the OLine then some other things will have to change including the coaching. just my opinion.

I am sure he still has a few Papa John's commercials left in him.

I would gently persuade the NFL's highest paid OL coach to "retire" and go after Solari who Phillips wanted here in the first place.

All we have to do is the following:

Phase Barber out.
Phase Choice and FJ in.
Focus on the offensive line in the draft and free agency.
Replace Houck.
Find a kicker. Bring 12 guys to training camp for all I care. Just find someone reliable.
Find 2 more fast linebackers.

only thing that needs to happen this offseason is another draft like 2008 draft............and of course sending RW to WR school

Not sure, but I have not seen if Pete Carroll is going to keep him or not. The last I saw Alex Gibbs was going to Seattle. Then I would presume Solari is out.

That is a good point. I had not considered that.

If it's true that Marty *could* play tackle, it might be time to look at that option. The down side is, Marty is your Jason Witten replacement in the coming years. I think I would take a dominating LT over a dominating TE though. Actually, I don't *think*, I WOULD.

You know what we need to do.....

Nothing big at all. Garrett needs to improve, we need to improve depth on the Oline and our Oline just has to do a better job altogether. This same Oline broke down in the playoffs and cost us the game against the Giants also.

Garrett has to have a gameplan that he can go to if the Oline is faltering. We broke down when we got into scoring range on Sunday, that is an OC isssue IMO. I am not saying get rid of him but he does need to improve.

If we can play defense next year like we did down the stretch then we will have a better season next year than last and we may end up with home field advantage in the playoffs.

The change from last year to this year was far from "baby steps". Anyone who tells you that is blowing smoke. This was an entire different team down the stretch - if you can't see that then you need to adjust your spectacles a bit!

The problem w/ the RW11 thing is he aint going anywhere. It needs to stop being suggested b/c its not happening. IMO its up to RW to fix it. Romo has proven himself, RW hasnt.

Why isnt he going anywhere? Teams can dump salary in the uncapped year with no penalty, so the only thing would be the poor trade hurting JJ's ego.

If Roy Williams can be traded for B. Marshall I would not hesistate. The OL should be priority though.

From what I found, Gibbs said he was definitely coaching the OL in Seattle, even if it hasn't been officially announced yet. So Solari almost has to be gone.

I love the idea of getting him, but I doubt Houck goes anywhere. Jerry loves him.

We aren't the Commanders. That crap doesn't work.

Like Jared Allen, Bart Scott, Drew Brees and Brett Favre didn't work? The problem isn't the way you find players, the problem is which players you find.

He should have lost a bit of love on Sunday I would think!

If anything we need more depth at o-line. I dont think anyone expected Flo to go down and once he did we were really done for.
I'm not so certain that every possible alternative was considered during the game to offset Adams' absence. Regardless, with him out, Tony Romo struggled mightily against Minnesota's pass rush.

You are correct. One of the priorities this offseason should be improving offensive line depth, with Cory Procter and Pat McQuistan being the primary candidates for replacement. If one or two solid options at left tackle or left tackle/guard can be identified via the draft or free agency, the team should move those options to top of the offseason acquisition list in my opinion.

Some are pointing fingers at the running back and receiver positions on offense. They believe that a star here or there will make the difference. The fact remains that games are often won or loss in the trenches. Our divisional game was loss because of the offensive line's ineffectiveness to both protect Romo and consistently run block.

Yes, I agree completely. Solving problems through big free agent aquisitions makes you the Commanders. No thanks!

Jones stressed several times how well compensated Houck was during the season. Perhaps that was a subtle reminder and hopefully he is not smitten with him. I am more concerned about Garrett's role in that honestly. He and Houck go all the way back and for all we know, Jones overrruling Phillips could have been abiding to Garrett's wishes. Remember, Jones loved Houck so much he was allowed to leave when Coach Parcells took over.
