Jerry: I feel good about McCarthy. I like the job he's done

I listened to it and my take was that Jerry didn't seem concerned one way or another. He was moderately pro-Mike like usual, but didn't sound concerned about him leaving as a free agent, either.

Never forget that Jerry does not value the position of head coach. He probably feels that if he loses Mike, oh well, plenty of coaches will always want to coach here.

We need to finish the race. We are not even in the race, we are eliminated from the playoffs lol.

Yep.......you probably right coz if he felt that strongly about him, we are not having these discussions. Mike would already have his extension

JJ drags his feet on every mutha-truckin decision related to this franchise.

Beyond aggravating.

If you love MM— bring him back. If you don’t— then say so and move on.

I have no idea what advantage JJ thinks he is getting by slowing his roll on every personnel decision he makes.

Dumbest possible way to run an organization.

there’s no timeline bc in his mind he knows he’s bringing Mike back so there’s no reason for there to be an expedited timeline that’s how Jerry thinks

Bring him back, Jerry.

Todd France will ensure McCarthy becomes the highest paid coach ever. Why? Because Todd France owns Jerry in contract negotiations.
MM is represented by Brady and Sean Payton’s agent. But I’m sure that guy will own Jerry too.

And apparently MM is respected in the league per reports, so what makes anybody think MM would take the job is somebody else is willing to hire him?

This Dak contract was by far the dumbest contract in the history of football. This discussion wouldn’t even be happening, as this franchise could have moved on completely with zero issues.

Purdy isn’t getting 60 million after this year and neither would Dak after this year..

I’m not a big fan of McCarthy and wanted him replaced after the GB playoff lose. However, the team’s failure this year came down to Jerry thinking he could let veteran after veteran leave via free agency to rack up comp picks while doing nothing in free agency. You can’t lose as many pieces as we did and expect to replace those guys in the draft. Most draft picks don’t work out and a lot of the ones that do take a few years to develop. Of course injuries only made the situation worse. Lose your starting LT, C, RB, RDE along with multiple depth players to free agency and think the 2024 draft picks would come in and we wouldn’t miss a beat was a mistake.

Jerry could easily and clearly state he wants Mike back. He's never done that.

He's clearly got his eye on a new head coach for 2025 (Moore). He'll probably interview Moore, Al Harris, and probably Witten just cause he's going to finagle a way for JW to join the staff he picks for Moore.

I've been on the fence about McCarthy. He's not the greatest coach in the world, but he isn't that bad either. In the right situation I think he could be successful. But lately I have been re-considering if Dallas is the right place for MM or if MM is the right coach for Dallas. Let's be honest first. Jerry has made it abundantly clear that he thinks he is in charge, including player decisions. He took responsibility for starting the two rookies on the OL and I will take him at his word. What that means is whoever replaces McCarthy will have to agree to Jerry's absurd level of control. I think that eliminates some of the best coaches who will want full control of the roster. So now answer the question. Who would be willing to take this job given the reality of Jerry pulling the strings? MM may be the best they can do. If Jerry is comfortable that MM will allow him to be the guy in front of the camera, then I think Jerry keeps him around. It will not shock me if MM is re-hired.

Of course this assumes MM wants the job. If Jerry gets wind MM does not want the job, Jerry will not offer it to him and then gaslight us into believing he was planning on moving on from Mike all along.

If MM does stay I hope he does two thing. First, he needs to stop designing his offense to get the ball to 2 players. He needs to spread it around more. The Cowboys offense - or any offense, does best when all skill position players are included in the game plan. Design plays to get different receiver open and then get them the ball. Don't just focus on CeeDee and Fergie, or Turpin. If you don't trust some receivers or TEs, then get new ones you do trust.

The other ting is run the football. the QB should not be the focus of every play unless he is Mahomes. If running isn't successful, the make it successful. Don't settle for throwing 40 times. Find out why it's not working and fix it. Try different players if its not working. When your running game is at the bottom of the NFL, it's you. Fix it.
Dallas Cowboys are not the right place for any coach. Jerry sabotages everyone.
