Maybe should have went that way in the 2nd vs reaching for a position where we had depth.
They do have 2 rookie olinemen on the roster. Maybe they did the right thing. Some thought Tyler Smith was a reach the year before.Maybe should have went that way in the 2nd vs reaching for a position where we had depth.
They added 2 rookies and 2 veterans. They signed Martin and Steele. What exactly were they supposed to do?I'm not sure which would be worse for a GM: not thinking you need more OL depth while looking at our roster or knowing that you do and doing almost nothing about it all offseason...
They drafted Richards, and signed Bass and Edoga. Then of course he has consistently drafted oline in the top 100 for years.I'm not sure which would be worse for a GM: not thinking you need more OL depth while looking at our roster or knowing that you do and doing almost nothing about it all offseason...
Torrence was never in the picture. We like our zone concepts and he simply lacks the agility we require. We are not a gap scheme even if we have gap calls. The stressful part with this OL is they are very top heavy.
Tyron, Tyler, Biadasz, Martin, Steele.
But with Tyler Smith banged up and Tyrons history we could be down to Asim Richards and TJ Bass playing serious snaps on Sunday.
Still unsure why a guy like Jason Peters or Justin Pugh wouldn’t have been called in yet.
This is why getting a guy like O’Cyrus Torrence wouldve been massive.
No one can argue against a 'Maybe'... But it's a huge maybe given Tyron (history, age), Zach (age), Steele (recovery)... I also realize we have drafted 2 guards in the 2-3rd rounds that we cut and are starting for very good teams...They do have 2 rookie olinemen on the roster. Maybe they did the right thing. Bass has been impressive so far.No one can argue against a 'Maybe'... But it's a huge maybe given Tyron (history, age), Zach (age), Steele (recovery)... I also realize we have drafted 2 guards in the 2-3rd rounds that we cut and are starting for very good teams...
Specifically a center and guard... we have depth gaps at center and guard...
Oh I agree. But I still feel like when you have the BPA on the board, at a place of need, you find a way to make it work.Torrence was never in the picture. We like our zone concepts and he simply lacks the agility we require. We are not a gap scheme even if we have gap calls.
Torrence was a different style blocker than what Dallas now uses most of the time. The stressful part with this OL is they are very top heavy.

I don't see how you can make this claim.
At the end of the day, OL scarcity is real. Reading draft guides you can see after the first few rounds the talent level drops. We have been outstanding in finding late round gems like Biadasz and Steele but most teams cannot even start 5 players at the standards you guys set.
AmenMaybe should have went that way in the 2nd vs reaching for a position where we had depth.
And Trey Lance is going to be a top 10 QB before we know it as well! Nice moves, Jerry...Hey man, Luke is gonna be a top 10, #2 TE before we know it!
of all the freaking things to admit to after an entire off-season has gone by and he's done nothing,,, like he's got no control over it. Contender rosters like this with closing windows are the ones you go "all-in" on, not sit there like an idiot lamenting that you didn't even try to fix it.I'm not sure which would be worse for a GM: not thinking you need more OL depth while looking at our roster or knowing that you do and doing almost nothing about it all offseason...
Martin and Steele were already on the roster so they really didn't sign 2 veterans per se. As for the rookies, they added a UDFA and drafted a 5th round OT....not exactly adding OL talent by way of a 1st thru 3rd round pick. They added 2 rookies and 2 veterans. They signed Martin and Steele. What exactly were they supposed to do?
