I think he was trying to say he thought they would play better than they did, without Dak. But his senility got him. :lmao:
Yeah, this was exactly it. He wasn't saying he thought Rush would be better than Dak. Although, he did say point blank Dak wasn't playing well. But if everyone can just be quiet for a second, you might hear Dak wiping his tears with a crisp $20 bill. Just like Zeke used to do post-Cabo. Lol.

I'd be happy to roast JJ over this, but truthfully, I think he was trying to say he thought the team would look better than they did. Wording is weird, but I doubt he meant that he expected the team to be better with Rush in the lineup.
^^ This ^^

Yes, the same guy Jerry made the highest-paid player ever.

This might be the closest to buyer's remorse we'll ever get from Jerry.

He obviously was NOT saying the team didn't need Dak or wouldn't drop off without Dak. All he was saying is he felt the team was good enough they wouldn't completely collapse without Dak.

I don't believe for one second that Rush is as bad as he played yesterday.
I do believe someone wanted us to think that.
But we've all seen Rush play better and the Cowboys win when they felt there was still hope for the season.
The playcalling was terrible.
But just like when Dak was injured before his first extension, it's as if someone wants fans to believe that the sky is falling without Dak.
Which would make sense now that Jerry mortgaged the team's future with that ridiculous contract he gave him.
I think someone put on a show for the fans to see yesterday.

Are you really going with a conspiracy that they purposely sabotaged Rush in order to prop up Dak? LOL.

You need a break from the board. It's making you looney.

PS - Rush stinks. Any sane person can see why he's a backup.

"We've won 3 games with Dak. We weren't playing well with Dak. At all." is another gem in there.
ole Jerry just dropping nuggets all over the place, only to soften back up like he did with the Zeke situation this week. They're son and father again and everything is behind them!! lol

Well I'm excited. We finally found a blowout loss that the Church of Dak doesn't want to lay entirely at the feet of the defense

This is real progress!
I don't get into those Dak discussions but I do enjoy watching people go through mental gymnastics and contorting themselves to avoid admitting something. If those who support Dak were blaming the defense for our other home blowouts but also want to trash Cooper Rush's performance to prop up Dak, then they have to admit that Dak's crappy QB play also played a part in getting blown out in those other home games if that's now the standard. It's all so hilarious.

Yeah, kind of like the 2016 team in terms of wasted potential. To me, it was never a Dak vs Romo thing to me. It was the rational thing to play the better, more experienced QB, and likely have an even better team. If Romo got injured again (possible) or didn't play as well (unlikely) you could have always gone back to Dak.

The management of this team continues to just guess or work off of emotion instead of making the most rational football decisions that have worked consistently for winning traditions over the years. 'We don't need an offensive line, we have Romo.' ~ JJ the Dunce. Romo was only here because of the Parcells coaching tree. It's just a microcosm of why the team is cyclically here again and again for the past thirty years.
Fully agree.

Dak has been so bad and looked so shot physically that I can understand why Jerry might HOPE they might look better but it’s ridiculous to expect it. Rush is not a Joe Flacco or Jameis Winston type of backup that has it in him to sling it around and put up big numbers. Especially knowing how good Philly is and that you are going to be playing from behind and their D can be aggressive.

What a lot of people are failing to see is that while Dak would have certainly thrown for more yards he also would have thrown 3+ picks and taken 3+ bad sacks and probably doesn’t score much more if anything above 6 points. So 34-6 might have turned into 48-6 or 48-13. I honestly don’t see how that is any better.
Exactly.
No difference whatsoever.

Never forget they are not Cowboy fans but Dak fans.
To them yesterday was a major victory as Rush stinking up the house proves Dak is better than Rush.
