Good. Goodell needs to take his Les Miserables act somewhere else. He does not have the intellectual temperament or judgement to be commissioner of the NFL. He is a modern Pharisee.
What he said.

The best action for Goodell is just to drop this.

Exactly. You cannot rule with tyranny and not expect any type of repercussion from your actions. 31 other managers turn the cheek and let him continue to rule.

Good for Jerry.

Previously, Jones has denied he was a member of the NFL's compensation committee, but league sources say Goodell was informed of his addition in the process within the same time-frame as the commissioner was deciding the eventual six-game suspension of Cowboys star running back Ezekiel Elliott for violation of the league's domestic violence policy that is currently hung up in a fresh court battle.

One league source said Jones now considers himself a representative of the remaining 26 owners who are not on the compensation committee that consists of chairman Arthur Blank (Falcons), Clark Hunt (Chiefs), Robert Kraft (Patriots), John Mara (Giants), Bob McNair (Texans) and Art Rooney II (Steelers).

Music to my ears... love how Jerry just came down with the "I represent those that don't have representation biatches!" For him to assume that role it means he already have had those discussions with other owners.

He wont just drop it which he should, Goodell is probably talking to his lawyer buddies looking to see if he can get Jerry for blackmail. But since Jones is not on the committee it would take the committee members to go against Jerry which I seriously doubt.

Huh? I need a literature professor to translate that.

Per Schefter and Mort, Goodell learned this right before making his decision on Elliott. This could be of importance to the case.

Love what Jerry is doing but in the end Goodell is going to get his extension.

Owners don't want their brand tarnished any further. They are already dealing with fallout from deflategate, concussiongate, knockedmyfianceoutoncamerabutgotofflitegate, Zekegate, kneelforanthemgate, blacklistkneelersgate, not to mention incompetent refs, a declining on field product, the erosion of the fan experience due to fantasy football and a growing societal impression that football might just be too dangerous to play. The question is whether or not getting rid of Goodell helps or compunds the image problem?

But with all these problems, anyone thinking that just getting rid of Goodell will magically restore the integrity of the game and the NFL product should think again.

Too dangerous? Ever worked in a refinery...

Jerry has lawyer buddies too and the ability to get huge sums of money without the NFL bureaucracy. Goodell makes $40m per year or whatever it is. Jerry makes like $1b.

The only way Goodell can hang with Jerry is through the league and smearing an owner is not in those cards.

Do you really think the other owners care what Kraft and Jones want.
I bet they are happy to stick it to the Pars and Boys.
