This is what I don't get. What it the most valuable asset the owners have? More valuable than all their franchises put together? The answer. Exclusive access to the best football players on the planet. Why is a franchise so valuable? The players, that's why. Would the Cowboys be worth $5 billion if the league employed 2nd rate talent and the best players played elsewhere? No way. Goodell is turning the players and fans against the league. It can't continue or everything the owners have is at risk. I would love to see the NFLPA float the idea that the players will form their own league during any work stoppage with the NFLPA serving as the front office. Let the owners sit and ponder a world where the top talent doesn't go to the NFL any longer. You're $3 billion franchise is now worth nothing.

JJ has no more inhibitions, he is in the HOF, so he doesn't have to worry about that any more if he speaks out....Run, Jerry, Run

Goodell is not the issue. He is only the front man for a majority of the owners. Whatever replaces him...it will be the same. Its a different league now with its own oddball priorities. Its not Goodell that sets the modern agenda he is only well paid to take the wrath of the fans.

It's not as simple as that. There is a lot of politicking involved to get enough owners to jump to their way of seeing this but rest assured behind the scenes, Jerry and Mr Kraft and a few other owners are networking to have a come to Jesus meeting with Roger the Clown when the time is right.

That's not true at all my friend. You may not be a fan of reading but I encourage you to read the CBA. It gives the designated commissioner widespread authority and latitude to act independently of any of the owners. He doesn't have god powers like some folks want to have us believe but he is powerful. They just need the right person in that position and I don't think it is Roger the Clown.
