I am more convinced than ever that Jerry is dealing with aging brain issues. Last week he insinuated DLaw could be back for the Bengals game and almost immediately Stephen contradicted him. We need to stop listening to Jerry. I think he still matters, but whatever comes out of his mouth is probably not what is really happening in Dallas.
There are people listening to Jerry? For Bog's sake, why?????????????????

What a dildo.. I have never hated anyone in my 62 years.. but I now hate this man with a passion.

Now I have to watch the playoffs again rooting for Detroit.

Then I have to make it through the offseason whilst he sits on his boat and can't even be bothered to pick up the phone and check some FA's out.

After all that next season starts and I will have a TINY bit of hope that this is the year... only to be disappointed yet again.

The NFL season used to be my fav time of the year.. this **** has now ruined it.

Yessss tell me to go find another team.. I wish I could.. unfortunately fandom doesn't work like that.

I have to hope I outlive the sack of ****
Jerry has now entered my list of hated things along w/ mosquitos, fleas, ticks, mites, mice, roaches, and the people who made the pillsbury doughboy.

Well, that and the regular season. We can't stop the run or play from behind. And Dak is easily fooled w/ the right D scheme.
Ok....since his eyeballs are the only eyeballs that are concerning.

What Jerry is trying to say is there won’t be a lot of turnover of the roster if he can help it and he’s all in for next season while we play underwhelming football all over again. Thanks, Jerry! Sarcasm meter off

One of the stupidest things ever said. That's a fan belief, in no way should an NFL GM be buying into silly fan sayings. Each new season is a brand new beginning w/ new players and often new coaches.

If someone has all these carryovers, could you point them out? The few that I'm aware of concern a young team on the rise. DET, for example. Winning a few meaningless games at the end of the season means absolutely nothing. And if a player needs that to play better, that is a weak player indeed.
You hit the nail on the head.

Jerry has the necessary talent and knowledge of a fan.

He couldn’t tell you anything about the top five players at their positions coming out of college right now if you held a gun to his head.

He couldn’t tell you who the top five free agents at each position are in the league from year to year.

He doesn’t know anyone that potentially could be helpful for Dallas on another team’s practice squad. Hell, he probably doesn’t even know our players on our practice squad.

This is all knowledge any GM worth their salary would be able to rattle off the cuff.

I think he listens to coaches talk up certain players (essentially the job they are doing with them) and therefore overrates what they actually are, or could be. The best salesmen are the easiest sold because they want to believe.

But yeah when the guy making the decisions relies on others to tell him what’s happening, it can become problematic.

The three headed GM situation is an underrated problem, but Jerry is a control freak with a huge ego and why this team will be forever held back.

Correct.

And from watching his drafting, he has even less knowledge about key player traits such as lateral agility, burst, and instincts. For instance, I knew Reggie Robinson, Eric Scott, and Villami were never going to be starters. How did Jerry not know?

You only singled out one player after being general about the problems.....just assume Dak has to get himself together and everything else will pan out.
Sorry, not interested in the stupid Dak spats. Not sure why you guys want to rail on endlessly about him. I simply named a big problem we have w/ our starting QB. If you have eyeballs, you know what I mean. Maybe stop picking out anything about Dak and look at the entire post? Be better.

You mention a specific Dak after a "general" comment on everybody else. Can we just focus on the Bengals today, instead of National Enquirer takes on Dak or perhaps TMZ chasers following him to the grocery store?

Wouldn't that be ok.....we don't have to count water bottles. Let's see the Bengals and a performance on the field now.

Better than what? This year ? of course . But as great as our glory eras. Not likely as long as Jethro intends on remaining GM.
Better than McCarthy. It's not like McCarthy has proven to be a difference maker. Quite the opposite. He's USELESS at staying Jerry's worst impulses.

Is McCarthy better than Garrett? How about Gailey, Campo, etc.

The bigger point is it going to matter that much under Jethro?

And who is this dysfunctional organization going to attract? More retreads and puppets probably.

Scary quote.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on @1053thefan: "There's no question that you can carry over good play from one season to the next. Potentially we even did that, we carried over not-so-good play against Green Bay that we had in our last game in the playoffs last year. I think it's naive to think that you don't have carryover."

To add to your point, that “attraction” is purposeful. The first filter in the algorithm for determining a HC around here is how firmly they can keep their mouth shut when Jerry dies and says stupid things coupled with always, and I mean always, feeding his out-sized ego.

Any coach that fails on those two counts will
Never coach this team

Can we stop the obsession you have w/ Dak, freaking out at the slightest comment?

Well, this season is basically over as far as accomplishing anything so I'd like to see 0-4 to end the season and be able to see Jerries ugly pouting mug shown at the end of each one but...... We play Carolina next so probably 1-3
