When your 82 year old cosplay GM does not live in reality or face any kind of consequences for his failures, you get insanity. Which is what we face. There’s so much gaslighting and hype from JJ, the fan base becomes the proverbial frog in the slow boiling pot, not always realizing the insanity of it all.

Jerry wants to keep McCarthy…firing him is another admission that Jerry was wrong. He will look for anyway to keep mm, not for excuses to fire him
Technically, Jerry Jones would not be firing Mike McCarthy if he simply allowed the contract to expire, a la Jason Garrett's.

Scary quote.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on @1053thefan: "There's no question that you can carry over good play from one season to the next. Potentially we even did that, we carried over not-so-good play against Green Bay that we had in our last game in the playoffs last year. I think it's naive to think that you don't have carryover."

Jerry is proving he is all about mediocre seasons performances year by year as long as the team shows some fight, thus keeping fans still interested with the hope that this team will turn it around "next year". Thus, it's all about keeping the fans' interest so they can keep filling up his stadium home games and keep the money rolling every year into Jerry's coffers. Jerry is not serious about reaching or winning another Super Bowl. He just wants to show enough effort every year to keep the fans blindly interested and still contributing $$$$ towards Jerry's yearly failed team.

If he wins out, there is practically a 100% chance Jerry gives him another chance.
We will see but I have my extreme doubts McCarthy makes it to 2025, regardless of any winning streak finishing the season. The only way I see Jones re-signing McCarthy is IF, by some miracle, Dallas makes the playoffs and goes on a true playoff run beyond the divisional round. In my opinion, it is 'Adios Mike!' unless those conditions are met.

Any Cowboys fans who knows Jerry Jones knew that he would use any type of winning streak the Cowboys go on at the end of this season to rationalize why he and his son don't need to make any major changes to the roster in the next offseason.
^ Truth.

he could lose all the games and Jerry would still say he sees Mike here for the future

The last thing Jerry wanted was to end up with a top 5 pick and place him into a position to take a QB.
:hammer:

Unfortunately, Jones has no clue why the circumstance has surfaced. And how he could have minimized any negative impact for this season. Self-pretending general managers do not have that necessary foresight.

lol. I would agree IF Jones had renewed McCarthy's contract prior to this season. Re-signing McCarthy would be an atypical move on Jones' part at this stage and/or following the end of this season.

Sure, Jones could spit out some hillbilly pleasantries about McCarthy during or after a five-game losing streak to finish the year. More diarrhea has always escaped his mouth than his backside. However, I doubt Jones will say anything concrete about McCarthy's future between now and then.

This makes me mad. It just shows that Jerry is not in tune with what the fans want. We want him to tank so we can get a better draft pick. We want him to fire McCarthy. We want him to be upset for such a failure at being a GM.

He shows none of that. Just to show that he flat out doesn't care.

If he doesn't care, then we don't care about his stupid opinions either.

Fans were more or less in tune with what Jerry Jones wanted from February 25, 1989 through March 28, 1994. The tune became wack from the very next day, and every day, through the present.
