Jerry is my hero for getting pacman

If Jerry became your hero for signing a player who is one weak moment away from suspension, dude, you seriously need a life.

Dude, he's not even the best corner on the team.

Ahh, I'm too sure about this and I luv TNew, he's one of my favorites but he doesn't make plays like Pacman does. TNew has to come up with more pics and do something with them.

It's awesome that we can have this argument. My mouth is salivating over the blitz/pressure schemes Wade will come up with our depth in the secondary.

Seriously when ever I think about Pacman Jones and the star on his helmet I cant seem to stop grinning..We straight up stole this guy, paid him nothing and now we have potentially the best CB in the league.

:laugh1: :laugh1: :laugh1: LOL @ the rest of the NFL.

Right there with you brother!

Was in favor of the Owens, T. Johnson and P. Jones acquisitions.

There are 31 other teams competing for the Super Bowl. If you want to be a player in this thing, one of the top 4-6 teams with a legit shot.............. then you must take some risk.

You cant just play it safe all the time.

Come draft time you have to grab a guy with "off the field issues" when talent level is high. You need to take the player changing positions that could end up a steal in the 4th rd.
This isn't the 1960's or even the 1970's were a dedicated franchise like the Cowboys could out-scout the majority. The info on college players is too well disclosed. They're too few true diamonds that fall through the cracks.

And as far as FA goes. If you get a chance to acquire a ProBowl talent like Terrell Owens or Pacman Jones, you do it!

Ya ok I'm supposed to pass up on a furture HOF WR because he called his QB fat and complained about his contract. Where's that playin at!

Ya ok I'm supposed to pass on a 24 yr old ProBowl CB because he likes lap dances and raising a little hell. Sure thing.

Thats what 30 other NFL owners/GM's did. Thank god we have one with some balls. Thank god we have Jerry Jones.

He is hardly a hero for getting Pacman.

Jerry is an opportunist.

He did it with Owens.... and now with Pacman. The risk(no matter how great) will NEVER do major harm to Jerry or the Cowboys.

He is successful, due in some part, because of the calculated risks he takes,

hell no...he is not even close to being better than T-New...what are some of you smoking?

great talent? yes..better play maker? yes.....but better overall? no....PacMan WILL get more ints than he has ever gotten, not because hes so great...but because Newman shuts down

he's not a better shut down corner than Newman.....he may have an edge at play making....but he doesn't play his man better(not yet) and doesn't even play the ball better than Newman(no! playing the ball doesn't mean just INTS)....Newman either drops the ball...or Swats that ***** away....he has great instincts

pac man is good though...if he starts shutting his guy down the way Newman does(im talking no TD's, and barely 3 completions a game)...add that with his play making..then ok...he might be above newman...but if newman continues to make plays like last season..especially in clutch....then idk..that will be tough

Seriously....i really feel QB's think like "man it will be just a waste of time throwing it his way(Newman), he may not pick it off, but either he will Swat it away..or ill throw a bad pass because hes all over the guy, but Pacman or Henry i have a better chance, because they might mis time there jump on the int"

therefore QB's will take chances and throw it the other Way......Newman does that sort of thing

I'm not sure why everyone thinks the guy is more of a defensive playmaker than Newman. He made 4 Ints in two years on defense...not exactly setting the bar real high. His passes defensed were pedestrian too.

He has made the majority of his "plays" on special teams, not defense.

While Jones is very good at corner, he's not on Newman's level. Hype doesn't equal Ints.

either way I see we have a great tandem in Jones and Newman:)

Thank you sir, for some rationality.

:laugh1: Since the draft I haven't been able to stop grinning. We have more talent on this team than any in the NFL. Let them sleep on us now, and laugh about insignificant comments about not winning a playoff game in 11 years.. when the season rolls around I don't think anyone will be laughing except us. When Jerry took a handful of that popcorn the other night, he sold me.

Newman's "lack of INT's" is one of the most overused memes among Cowboy fans. The truth is people just have no clue how rare INT's are, even for perennial All Pro INT's. Newman's INT totals stack up right against everyone not named Deion Sanders...

Career INT's through their first 5 years in the NFL.

Chris McAlister - 14
Terrence Newman - 16
Rod Woodson - 16
Darrell Green - 17
Champ Bailey - 18

I really have no idea where this "Newman doesn't make INT's" nonsense came from, other than maybe it's because he's never had the 7 or 9 INT season ... but the guys who get the 7 or 9 INT season typically follow it up with a 1 or 2 INT season, whereas Newman is pretty steady and dependable for 3-4 INT's a season. I have no doubt he'll eventually have a 7 or 9 INT season at some point in his career, but that doesn't mean that the "playmaker" fairy just magically came into his room and sprinkled magic "playmaker" dust on him out of the blue, it just means he got some lucky breaks and more opportunities than he typically does.

Second, it was the same thing when Tank came on board ... a lot of people started over-hyping how good Tank was for the Bears and that he was going to unseat Jay Ratliff within the first week of practices. Some people just overrated trouble players ... forbidden fruit tastes the sweetest for some, I guess. PacMan has proven to be an explosive punt returner, but his work as a CB has been a mixed bag. He rebounded nicely his 2nd year after a pretty abysmal rookie season, and we don't know how much a year away from football is going to affect him.

Sig worthy indeed

"Makes you feel good in the fact that you have a chance at a guy who could be a great corner, but don't fall in love, just feel good. Make him earn your love. You know, make him earn your love. Don't just, because he's so talented, don't fall in love now. When something goes wrong and then, you know, you want to go blame everybody. It's a step to what it could possibly be and that's getting to a Super Bowl." - Nate Newton

I'm sorry guys but Pacman is a REAL GOOD cover Corner and a better playmaker then Newman that's why people are excited about Him. And not only that He does punt returns and jerry said, mybe even some offense.

The stats thrown out there are no big deal. Henry has how many more Ints then newman? And nobody says He's better then newman. He even had 10 INt in one season. The guy can make plays but he also gets beat alot.

Combine both Cover corner and Playmaker and you have pacman..That is best of both worlds. That is why people are excited, not because he can INt the ball when it falls in his hands better then newman. He goea out there and makes it happen.

If nothing else.... there is no more Reeves and Pacman is speedy and footbal smart ..... the antithesis of Reeves.

We are 200% better than last year.
