I was really happy that Jerry was interviewing all the coaches he did but it was just a smokescreen to divert flack once he hired another "Best Buddy". Wade Phillips is an old man, friend of Jerry ala Switzer. The good ol boy club in full effect. Jerry used to be innovative now he's just "safe". I hope everyone is ready for a few more years of 9-7, 8-8..... Jerry has basically ruined our proud franchise because of his ego. Give it up old man, let your son take over so the fans won't continue to be disappointed anymore. You dont have it anymore Jerry. Your day has come and gone.

Jerry has been a risk taking innovator most of his life but his reactive nature sometimes gets the best of his affable personality.

This is a reaction to 4 years of Bill P. shutting him out followed by Norv's newly less-compliant nature.

Norv, has a very good situation in S.F.(1MM $+ and Smith & Gore) and he knows Jerry and T.O. are setting the stage for divided team loyalties with Garrett. When he asked for commitment and control the negotiations shifted to WP. Pretty simple. We're screwed

I suppose you like this hire? I suppose your homeristic vision would have Phillips being crane-lifted to the shoulders of our players on Super Bowl sunday.

I wanted a young, innovative, non-retreaded coach who could be a motivator of men. Phillips has failed to do that in every stop as HC just like Norv. This is a pathetic choice. My choice wouldve been Ron Rivera for the following reasons:

He's Young, confident,etc
Had been enthusiastic about the chance to coach the Cowboys from the start
Seemed well spoken and open-minded from what I can tell
Had results to back up his candicacy (Top 5 defenses)
Learned D under Buddy Ryan, Jim Johnson, Lovie Smith
His past Players love playing for him and seem to speak highly of him
He favors letting players do what they do best instead of totally changing them around
He's played the game, come up through the coaching ranks with success
Has something to prove

Now we have another Tubby The Hutt who loves the 3-4 just like the one who exited the building. Again, be ready for 8-8.... I know the homers will support this move like he is the next coming of George Halas but not me. Sorry.

That's not entirely true. I always heard that Jerry and Norv weren't THAT close and the Phillips and Jones families are very close friends.....
