It might be worth handing him the headset for a game:laugh:

You laugh, but for gameday management, I'd take Jerry over Garrett every Sunday. Literally. Jerry over Garrett.

Garrett isn't stupid. It's worse than that. A stupid person will still learn from experience. Garrett has dogmatic commitments to stupidity that keep him from learning from experience.

irrelevant. What's best for jerry's business was taxpayer funding and league funding to secure the money to build his stadium, then charging the fans PSL's to guarantee sell outs every week locking fans into contracts that they have to sell to get out of.

A stadium by the way they told us voters in 2004 that was going to include a hall of fame building, three fields outside for training camp which would be held half of the time in Arlington and a number of other facilities not to mention all the restaurants, bars, upscale condo's etc he and the rangers owner were going to build.

Not a single thing they promised was built except the stadium. Then they built that monstrosity in frisco on their own land and are currently selling office space for business and upscale apartments.

He owns the company that handles the catering or whatever the term is for all the food in the stadium (and yankee stadium).

They made out like bandits with the stadium and the facility in frisco. 25 years from now when they still can't get to the nfc championship game the stadium will still be sold out because of the psl's and the tours will be running full all day.

Winning or losing, and *how* he wins or loses, makes a difference for the media attention the Cowboys get, and the money that flows from that, including the local money that JerryDome brings in as a tourist destination.

I have no doubt he has successfully screwed local taxpayers and milked the fans like crazy.

Yep, just this past year I believe.

I've always hoped we would be casino gambling in Texas and Jerry would build a cowboys themed casino......you know it would be first class just going by our stadium and now the Star.
Winstar is a sponsor because of the recent change in gambling and the NFL. This is a Chickasaw owned casino and he has 0 ownership. He may have some involvement should Texas legalize gambling, which there's about as much chance as legalizing recreational marijuana. Texas is the dark ages state.

Yea, it's just a sponsorship type of agreement.......the way I worded it did seem to imply some type of ownership which is not true.

Jerry makes a ton of money from leasing out the stadium for other venues such as concerts plus the concessions. The stadium was built with this in mind. Income from the Dallas cowboys is a very small part of where his wealth keeps increasing from.

Just a few off the top of my head:

Oil and gas revenue
80 + Papa John's restaurants
Windstar casinos
I believe a recent 2 billion dollar natural gas acquisition
I think there are a few more fairly recent that elude me at the moment

Oh yea, I almost forgot.....the Dallas cowboys

A very small part? The team is valued at $5.5B and had revenues of $950M last year. How much do you think Jerry is worth? It's quite possible that everything you listed can be attributed to the money he has made from owning the team.

I used to think that good ole Jerry really wanted to win more superbowls. But I now think he looks at his franchise and tells himself there's a sucker born every minute. He actually loves running a circus, and really loves having clowns as coaches.

Truth is as long as the Cowboys are entertaining, and at least have middle of the road record, they are big money makers. Money is Jerry's SB, and we are the suckers.

Yup.

Jerry is all about that money now.

He let Jimmy Johnson build up the franchise and wanted all the glory and money after that.

Since then, it's been a train wreck.

. Texas knows if it wants to keep a good state, to keep gatbage like betting and weed out of the state. That's not dark ages, that's a state with correct principles. Weed kills the brain, produces individuals with no incentive, a gateway drug, with low ethics, and gambling makes the poor poorer, it's a tax on stupidity. I see you stmu be smoking weed anyways, and probably getting taxed by Ur gambling out of state. These are things that destroy, not build

Jerry said he kept interests in other things when he bought the team. Real estate seemed to be one of those as well as oil.

JJ is and always was only about the money.

He is a salesman and knows how to adverstise his Dallas Cowboys to us fans. He makes us believe Dallas is something special in the NFL and every year there is a chance for a SB.

He is great at that. The only thing he is great at. As long as we believe him he will have his success.

Stop buying merchandising products, dont go to the games and watch games thru other.sites then the one you have to pay for.

And dont listen to him anymore! Dont watch interviews etc. Ignore the DC website.

Thats it. Have a great game.

Go Cowboys!

Jerry's net worth is 8.4 billion. Being the team is worth a little more than half of his net worth I guess "a very small part" wasn't quite the proper wording.

He made his early wealth through the oil and gas business so no not "everything" can be attributed to him owning the team.........the oil business allowed him to initially purchase the team.

Jerry and Vince McMahon are basically the same person
They’re both huge promoters of their product.

Difference is Vince isn’t held directly responsible for one of the Wrestlers success in the ring like Jerry is of the Cowboys on the field.
