Jerry is rich, he has three Super Bowl rings, he owns your favorite team, I would say he is pretty smart.

Yeah he is a brilliant business guy I know, but do you not agree that his football management leaves alot to be desired, alot.

Jethro has intelligence?

How do you know I'm not a filthy rich cynic on a freakin' message board?

He's a zillionaire; was successful in the oil bidness, bought the Cowboys, is building a stadium and has three super bown rings on his lacquered little hands.

I'd say it took a modicum of intelligence to do all that, but I could be wrong.

Now, guys don't insult your own intel. Listen ya'll ever heard of a guy named Jimmy Johnson he coached the Dallas Cowboys from 1989-1994. He built the team that won 2 of the 3 Superbowls '92 and '93 and I give him credit for '95 as well since it was a continuation of the team he constructed. The 1 and ONLY good FOOTBALL decision Jerry Jones has made is hiring Jimmy Johnson on day 1 and I give him credit for that. Under Jerry's heavy hand the Dallas Cowboys have been a shadow of their former selves.

Don't be comin' up in here with Jerry is a billionaire stuff because no one cares about that, at least I don't, when the franchise is stuck in a mud hole of medeocrity. All pro sports owners are wealthy anyway and some of them are smart enough to stay out of the way of the real GM and coaches and stick to doing what they do and that's business.

If I remember correctly, Jimmy wanted Walsh over Aikman, Jerry would have none of that. That was a good football decision, I think.

Also, maybe the ´95 team would not have won it all if Jerry hadn´t spent all that money on Deion.

Jimmy got Walsh to see how Aikman could handle the pressure of competing for his job. Dallas would never have needed Deion if Jimmy were still there and we'd have more than 3 rings in the '90 also IMHO.

I agree about the Cowboys winning more than 3 with Jimmy part, but the thing is Jimmy was no longer here in 95 and Jerry went out and did what had to be done to get us our 5th.

Also, I beleive Jimmy actually trusted Walsh more than Aikman after drafting him and wanted him to start.

Just like that...

Jethro has intelligence?

A good deal more than you do, apparently... you're not even bright enough to figure out his name's Jerry, and that's pretty commonly known... LOL...

How do you know I'm not a filthy rich cynic on a freakin' message board?

Just an educated guess, based on the intelligence of your posts here lately...

Well Jethro's runnin' the show again

Nobody named Jethro connected to the Cowboys... if you insist on trying to be the Simon Cowell of this forum, do try to be original...

hiring OC before a head coach, so the coach doesnt have a say who the OC is gonna be.

You don't know what role Jerry contemplates for Garrett, or even if he'll ultimately hire the guy... which makes your snarling criticism all the more asinine...

Perhaps, but I surely don't see any superiority in YOUR approach to the game...

In fact, I don't really see any solid, constructive suggestions coming from you at all, at all... all you seem to do is b*tch and moan about what you THINK Jerry might do...

It's almost like you think there's a prize connected to being the first one to rip on Jerry's decision... ROTFLMAO...

Problem is, nobody else much cares what YOU think...

Perhaps that's because you never offer any positive suggestions, all you do is complain about what Jerry's doing... that makes you a second guesser, utterly lacking in substance...

And of course, Jimmy was just BRILLIANT when he went to the Dolphins...

You're just another witless Jerry hater, indulging in a knee-jerk reaction... which makes you a mass of sound and fury, signifying nothing...

So in your defense of Jerry by attacking me, does this mean you're satisfied with the way Jerry runs the team and the fact that Dallas has been medeocre at best the last 10 years?

Seriously you guys defend Jerry so much but what has he done lately to get us some more SBs, spend money? What does that solve, nothing on the field apparently. NE doesnt spend a ton of money on players but they win consistantly and contend every year. Jerry has yet to establish a systematic way of doing successful football business and management of a team, mainly because he's in the way of it.

The easiest thing Jerry can do is remove himself from the GM position and hire someone who is qualified, just because he is a billionaire does not mean he is a qualified NFL GM, just look at his track record, it sucks the last 10 years we can't even win ONE stinkin' playoff game.

I'm tellin' you guys Jerry is treadin' into Al Davis territory by making decisions like hiring Garrett for OC before hiring a HC, he might as well make Garrett the HC now to prevent any tension that might come when a new HC come in.

So in your defense of Jerry by attacking me,

I'm not attacking you to defend Jerry, I'm attacking you because I find you obnoxious...

I find you obnoxious because ALL you ever do is rant about Jerry... you never, ever offer up any opinions as to what the Cowboys should do, merely what you think they shouldn't do...

does this mean you're satisfied with the way Jerry runs the team

Yes, I am... he's made mistakes, but he's learned from them... your problem is that you don't believe he's ever learned anything from any of his past mistakes, and is eager to return to the old, meddling Jerry of yore...

I find that highly improbable, for one common sense reason-- the Cowboys were going nowhere fast, with a roster of questionable talent at best, until he gave Parcells the control a head coach needed... while Parcells didn't accomplish everything we hoped he would, he DID get this franchise turned around, headed in the right direction...

I figure if a football dilettante like myself can figure that out, Jerry can too... you seem to want to believe that he's an idiot, eager to return to the ways that didn't work for him before...

Jerry has yet to establish a systematic way of doing successful football business and management of a team, mainly because he's in the way of it.

Except that's not even close to being true-- Parcells didn't leave because of Jerry's meddling ways, in fact all the reports are that Bill is quite fond of Jerry, which is why he's sticking around to help with the transition...

So there is evidence, even if you refuse to recognize it, that Jerry has finally come to understand that at a certain point, he has to get out of the way of his football people, and let them do their job...

I'm tellin' you guys Jerry is treadin' into Al Davis territory by making decisions like hiring Garrett for OC before hiring a HC, he might as well make Garrett the HC now to prevent any tension that might come when a new HC come in.

What makes you so completely certain there would be any such "tension"?? If the choice for head coach turned out to be Norv Turner, then I highly doubt there would be any tension at all, since Garrett is basically a Turner disciple...

Beyond that, you don't really know what role Jerry envisions for Garrett, or whether Jason would agree to join the team in the role envisioned... so your knee-jerk criticisms of Jerry for this make you a premature ejaculator type of poster...

Me, I figure I'll wait to see what he actually DOES before I pass judgement on the move... particularly since this change in directions isn't his choice, it's something that was basically forced on him...

I don't have any right now, I'm waiting to get more of a read on what Jerry's gonna do... since I clearly don't have any input into what route Jerry chooses, that is the ONLY rational approach, as far as I can see...

For sure, it makes more sense than ripping on him for moves that he may or may not make... but I guess you feel the need to vent your hostility periodically, and this has given you a chance to disgorge some of your bile...

seems all you do is go around ripping people who have opinions,

Well, I try to only rip on people with STUPID opinions... it ain't my fault that you find yourself in that category...

if you don't like it buzz off.

Chuckle... think you can order me around, do you??

If I don't like what you're saying, I'm gonna tell you I don't like what you're saying... apparently, that pisses you off...

GOOD...

I have a right to my opinion

And I have a right to ridicule that opinion, when the opinion offered is ridiculous... if you don't like that, well, you've got a problem, 'cause I ain't changing for the likes of you...

and if you don't like SUCK IT and grow up.

LOL... this one tells me to "grow up", right after regaling me with the ever-so-mature "suck it"...

Chuckle... if you hang around these boards long enough, you'll find that the attention I've paid you to date is NOTHING...

You're gonna have to try harder than this to get me really pissed at you, though... right now, I'm just having some fun during a slow time at work, baiting you, and watching the predictability of your response...

You don't seem to be having any fun tonight, which was of course the plan when I started the baiting...
