Oh don't get me wrong....I'm NEVER forgiving the Jerry ego show.Yea but it doesn’t forgive the last 25 years. Instead it makes us realize how much we wasted.

Having the last word on big decisions doesn’t mean he’s running around telling him what to do.Jerry has made statement and in the end that is not what happened. I'm sorry I don't think Jerry is telling McCarthy how to run the team. I think Jerry is privy to meetings they have but no I don't think Jerry is running around telling McCarthy what he will do.
Well said, hear hear!Yes, the old man has had a good year. But as you said, I will withhold the “credit” until we win at least a divisional playoff game. And if so, he will deserve his craved “credit”.
And I will also give him credit for being rich enough to not have a boss that could fire him for the last 25 years. He’s the only GM (besides Brown in Cincy) that can keep his job despite results.
Put it this way…if any of us had the cash and time stand all day at a Vegas roulette table and roll it time after time after time after time after time after time after time….26 times and finally get a good spin…how much credit would be due?
Truth.Jerry doesnt deserve any credit, and really doesnt need or want our approval or credit.
The credit he wants is in his own mind, that is enough for him.
If they get past div round, or into SB , or win SB, dont worry jerry will give himself mucho credit lol.
Jerry has a built in automatic back patter. When he built his domed art gallery with biggest tv, that patter was working 24-7 for several years.
Praising Jerry will get you banned here.. I suggest you tread lightly..
1. They could’ve parted ways with Gregory many times but Jerry did it the right way because he saw the player he could be
2. Drafting Parsons is a franchise changer. Wow wow wow
3. Finally investing in Dak long term and taking care of the contract before the regular season starts
4. Hiring McCarthy was the right decision. He knows how to build a championship team and his players absolutely love him
5. Dan Quinn hire
McCarthy wanted Joe Whitt who came on as a defensive assistant. The FO were the ones with their eyes on Quinn. They actually had to push back on Whitt because McCarthy had free reign with Nolan and it went terribly.I agree with 1 and probably 4.
2 they were all over the place in what they wanted to do and settled for the best player on their board
3 they got wrong, they were too late
5 I believe McCarthy suggested Quinn

Whitt was another longtime McCarthy assistant and friend and they couldn’t give him another free run at an old friend. You can call it meddling but I call it responsible management. With the way Nolan came and went it would behoove them to have a bit more input on the assistants.

I remember begging us to not do it. When I saw flash the money sign after a TD in a fairly meaningless college game...."head case trouble maker".I think there was a big turning point when Jerry passed on drafting Johnny Manziel and went with a high quality O lineman in Zack Martin instead. It's easy to look back and say "well, duh," but Manziel had been playing lights out in college and looked like a brilliant escape artist and miracle maker. A lot of people thought he would become an elite NFL quarterback. I'm proud of this organization for seeing through the Manziel hype. Manziel had a bunch of playing habits that worked in the NCAA, but will get you clobbered in the NFL, not to mention his off the field shenanigans. He had bad field habits and not anywhere near the maturity to overcome them. Instead of that bozo, we got an outstanding lineman that you can build from.
Something I noticed is Jerry is more reserved in his suite during the game.
It could be a sign he's letting other people coach and mange the team and he's in a retirement mode of sorts.
It was good seeing him smile in the *** team game instead of doing jumping jacks.
Mkay.Jerry will stop meddling, stop discussing game plans (hc should be discussing this), stop hiring the assistant coaches for his head coaches, and stop having the final say in all football matters when he is lowered into the ground at the midfield star when he sings with “the choir eternal”.
I have been following the Cowboys back to the Landry days and after watching Jones mismanage the franchise for the better part of two decades, I think I have enough evidence to know Jerry does not have any skills in drafting or building a winner. Those three Super Bowls was all Jimmy and the dynasty Jimmy built. Jerry gets credit for hiring Jimmy and signing checks, nothing more. Jimmy was operating as the gm since he had the last say in all football matters.
Well said. We all know who they were focusing on in the draft, hard to just dismiss that important fact. Some of y'all seem awfully concerned with making sure ol' Jerry gets his credit.
When he and sonny demonstrate they can win something their way I'll be happy to give them credit. They've been chasing it going on 3 decades, so let's hope this is the season.
They certainly have demonstrated that they can win something this season. Another thing that they did was build a roster deep enough to actually stash players so that they would have fresh legs at the end of the season and the playoffs. I think that you will see that as they destroy teams the next few weeks. Some of y'all seem awfully concerned with making sure ol' Jerry gets his credit.

They haven't done it yet, but this team looks historically good.Yes, the old man has had a good year. But as you said, I will withhold the “credit” until we win at least a divisional playoff game. And if so, he will deserve his craved “credit”.

If only Murray didn't fumble and Dez just caught the ball and didn't try to score on the play.Until we win a divisional playoff game, Jones deserves all the credit for the worst 25 year stretch in our history. This worst stretch in Cowboys history is on the JJ since those years supersede any head coach, QB, or any other assistant coaches (i.e., JJ is the architect of the past 25 seasons).
