Like I said in the 'talks are positive' thread, what the hell does that even mean? There are no "talks". There are offers and counter offers.

Saying "talks are upbeat" is the equivalent of saying your blind date has a good personality.
i mean offers and counter offers qualify as "talks" in this context. but even not relying on semantics, I'd imagine there's actual discourse involved. But even if not, if the gaps are closer to being bridged then previously, that's productive.

Another receiver got paid before CeeDee. This time it was DJ Moore.

france I think you're probably right. But why NFLPA if not with Goff/Tua?
They were not about to be free agents and could be traded. The NFLPA would want to see Prescott parley his advantage to more significant compensation. It will encourage players and their agents to demand no trade & no tag language in subsequent contracts. It’s likely part of the discussion with CeeDee Lamb. Lamb is obviously familiar with Cowboys ownership and the contentiousness of contract negotiations with the Cowboys FO. You have to believe he’d like to wrest as much control over Jerry Jones as he can get. Think of it. If I can’t get paid, at least I can get away.

At this point if we are talking strictly business and keeping our personnel feels in our fan pockets, if Dallas were to resign Dak, the NTC and term should not be given up on this contract.

Like I said, nothing personnel, but if we give you the BIG money, we want the right to trade you in return.

That is the only scenario that should be of concern to the true fans that are paying close attention.
I think that is a reasonable request.

Offer Dak the same contract Trevor Lawrence and Jordon Love just signed (55 a year)..............maybe $180 totally guaranteed................but Dak has to give up his no trade clause.

Its a win-win for everybody, Dak gets his bag and can claim to be the highest paid QB in the NFL, or at least tied with Love and Lawrence for that title, and team gets an escape hatch if they need to use it in the future.

Why do I think France’s response to the Cowboys not wanting to offer Dak the “no trade clause” would be “$60 million per year, $200 million guaranteed and I’ll run it by Dak”. Even Hurts has no trade no tag language in his current deal. France is not going to be outdone by Hurts’ agent.

Yeah, you are probably right.

Todd Francis would probably not go for that.
