No- it is not out of the question.I guess a new Cowboys owner is out of the question? I joke
More like four generations:Unfortunately nothing has deterred him. The bigger factor is we live and breath football in this state. And he’s benefitted from two generations of fans who grew up with championship pedigree .
You obviously haven’t spent much time in Austin. They still fill their 100,000 seat stadium even in down years. “A contingency of dissatisfied Longhorn fans” is most ridiculous assertion I’ve heard. LolSince Texas have irrevalent in college football for the last decade-plus (and it appears that's not going to change anytime soon) - a contingent of dissatisfed Longhorn fans, along with San Antonians and people not interested in college football - could rally and put forth a great effort to bring a third NFL team to their growing area.
This isn’t about what you or I are interested in. This is about bringing a second team to the 3rd largest metro area in the US. As always , follow the money trail.I'd much rather see an NFL franchise awarded to South Central Texas i.e. the Austin-San Antonio Corridor.
4.5 million residents now, and projected to incease to 6.5 to 7 million by 2030.
Plus - it would create a third NFL fanbase distinct from the Cowboys and Texans.
Jethro will be six feet under by the time North Texas brings another NFL team to the area.Jerry likes average results, why would he want the stress of having to actually product a good football team by having another team compete next to him?
Yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyup.That Mayor won't be reelected...
You apparently haven’t been following the last 15 years since Great Recession which begun the enormous population boom not only in North Texas but most of Texas.Don’t understand this logic. You do realize DFW needs over 2 million more people than Chicago land to make this claim. Allot can happen in the future. A recession maybe coming. Areas can lose population when industries suffer. Im not saying its going to happen here. I just think it’s premature to make such a statement. The DFW needs the population of Cincinnati and Boston to come close.
Jethro most likely won’t be alive when this happens. Are 75% of the owners going against Jones if this proposal even just comes up for a dicussion phase?
I do like the dissemination of knowledge. You apparently haven’t been following the last 15 years since Great Recession which begun the enormous population boom not only in North Texas but most of Texas.
Here’s a link which might help you grasp reality. There’s many others which our mayor used data to support his presentation.
“DFW’s population, at 7.6 million as of the 2020 Census, has grown three times faster than the average of the nation’s 50 largest metro areas, making it the most populous metro area in the South. That number stood at 6.4 million in 2010, meaning the population grew by a stunning 350 people a day over the decade.
It’s projected to reach 10 million by the 2030s, at which time it is expected to displace Chicago as the nation’s third-largest metro, behind New York and Los Angeles.”

I would have definitely agreed with you until the recent population boom in DFW area last 10-15 years and where it’s expected to be by 2030’s.Austin alone is larger than several cities that currently have NFL teams. Significant wealth in the area too, although I'm not sure how big of a factor that even is. Add in San Antonio and all parts in between, and this is a massive untapped market. Maybe it's not too likely, but it's far more likely than a second team in Dallas.
Like when we had two professional teams before, I’d support both teams. And I think most of the local fans would.Greg, would you switch over and follow that other team?
Up until the last 10-15 years I’d of never had such thoughts . But the Dallas metro area has become like a melting pot with millions migrating from all parts of the country.does the mayor have a drinking problem? Why would you put another team in the same city. I know "New Jersey" does it and the raiduhhs and niners were close but it just doesn't seem right.

I think there’s a possibility they could not all agree or have a fallout and sell out at some point after Jethro is 6 feet under. Tough for siblings to all agree on same path.No- it is not out of the question.
There eventually will be one....no.....there will be three:
Stephen, Charlotte, and Jerry Jr.
There’s nothing in recent years that would predict it’s going to change.Im aware of the data. I’m also aware trends can change. Projections can change.

It’s why our stadium fills up with so many opposing fans because they have brought their fandom with them. Another NFL site would provide these and the millions expected another venue and team to support who continue migrating here for jobs.
This isn’t about disgracing the Cowboys. This is about the enormous population and economic boom in North Texas.
I would have definitely agreed with you until the recent population boom in DFW area last 10-15 years and where it’s expected to be by 2030’s.
And it’s possible both could occur. The population and economic boom with population migrating to Texas is mind blowing.
I’m not sure it’s going to be sustainable to our infrastructure long term unless we invest more in our water supply, energy and electricity grid , healthcare and public schools which we rank near the bottom in the nation.
