Own & GM the team. The public display to the media doesn't help the team and definitely do not help the coaches specifically JG.

JG was one of the best young minds sought after by many many teams before OC of the Cowboys. Played under some great coaching minds and coached under living legends. Thats one of the reasons that JG was always able to rally teams mid season and why players never seemed to quit on him. Some how some way JJ has stripped Jason of all of that experience and literally made JG a shell of himself this year.

This is the same coach that took a rookie QB to a 13-3 record after losing his MVP caliber QB a couple of weeks before the season started. This is the same coach that dealt with a looming and then eventual 6 game suspension of the teams best player and still had a winning season. This the same coach that started a season 3-5 and led a team to a playoff birth and a victory over a well coached team and a MVP level QB.

What happened Thanksgiving 2019 is we saw JG get outside of himself....he didn't have confidence....he made coaching decisions that didn't make sense even when they worked. Jerry did this by making a circus after a 4 point lost to the greatest coach that ever lived. For the first time you could clearly tell that it affected JG; it is not an assumption it was obvious. So obvious that the players, the leaders on the team had to see it as well. Other GMs saw it to and while other teams may not have a Jerry Jones they have a media. If JG doesn't shock the world and turn this season around he may never be a head coach in the NFL again and he can thank Jerry for that.

Stop.

Please stop.

Pretty please, stop.

Garrett is not a great coach held back by Jones.

JJ is hard to work for.....ask Jimmy
Hell I'd imagine ask any coach. I'm sure players love him but I don't know how a coach would want to come here.

Like as a head coach you are essentially the boss of your team. You don't write the checks but you are the boss. If your team has a GM you work hand in hand with the GM. But how in the hell are you suppose to coach when your owner/GM isn't your partner but meddling with your business? If the players have a problem they go to Jerry and skip over Garrett. I Don't know how a coach could coach here. I really don't. I know Parcells probably did it for the $$$$ and Garrett was desperate for a head coaching job as was Wade.....oh ok I guess that's what it is. You desperate then you will come here so basically we have to hope someone is desperate and have no other option lol.

Can't ruin someone that was never good in the first place. JG owes his entire coaching career to Jerry's poor judgement.
Rookie QB after Romo goes down? Zeke suspended for 6 games? 3-5 win the division and playoff birth? Anyone could have done that....I digress

This is actually way more accurate then posters here will admit. There is some weird agenda where everything is Jason's fault and if you don't agree then you aren't cool. It's like that South Park episode where all the kids get new toys and Kyle thinks the toys are dumb, but his friends say he's dumb for not blindly following them so he does just to fit in. Jason Garrett is by no means the best coach in the world. He isn't the worst though. He looks rattled on the sideline and maybe rightfully so, but these players are just as big of a problem as he is. IF you are getting paid millions a year and you need a coach to instill passion into you, you are the problem.

The man has had 10 seasons to build a team............ while he may not be the ONLY problem, there is no argument to be made that he deserves one more year.

You can either laugh about it or cry about it. Neither of which will make it untrue or make it go away.

We have NEVER seen JG over come adversity during a season unless you count the last 3 seasons. 2019 Jason will not overcome this....of course I hope he does.

When the Cowboys hire Garrett and when Garrett had interviewed for other jobs, the general feedback was that he was really well organized. The compliments were all things that would be great if they were feedback about a young aspiring politician. None of the feedback was about his X&O abilities.

Yeah I wouldn't go that far but I think anyone who coaches under Jerry is basically playing basketball with their arms tied behind their back. I'd say that effects in regards to how he runs his team. Maybe even how his teams come out flat on Sundays. But that does not excuse his in-game coaching. That's his own doing and stubbornness. Garrett is not a victim here. Especially 10 years in.

You should have left that one out. They finished 9-7 (and missed the playoffs) after that absolutely stunning 6-0 victory over the Philly 3rd and 4th string. Did you forget Philly rested nearly their entire team?

Yep, that was one helluva coaching job in that game.

That's a good point. And that's probably exactly why we are where we are at with him. He's a politician. Its how he's stayed in office in 10 years thus far but its time to move on. Actually It was that time awhile ago. Those 8-8 seasons should've warranted it.

I think with a head coach if he doesn't come out of the game winning games with his coaching then don't waste time with him. If a young head coach loses it should be evident its because of the talent around him. Garrett hasn't had that problem. Not saying he's had the best rosters in the league but he's underachieved in regards to talent since Day 1.

Three playoff appearances in nine years. Two playoff wins. Nothing past the divisional round. Rich Kotite could give you that.
So you dont dispute what I said as being true. There are a handful of coaches that could do what JG did the last 3 seasons. We will not see it this season though....JJ has saw to that.
