I've got an idea why don't we just disband the Dallas Cowboys... that way we get rid of

the whole Offense & Defense & Special teams

than all you people will be happy.... but lets not stop there... lets get rid of all the other teams in the NFL except one and we can all root for that team that way we can always win and have a sense of achivement (regardless of how cheap) and we can feel good about ourselves for having some sorta semblance of having done something meaningful in our pathetic lives.

You know what I find really funny? The other day we had a thread praising Pat Bowlen for the way he runs the Broncos as opposed to the way Jerry runs the Cowboys. Now Bowlen's team is looking to hire as Head Coach the man that Jerry is a fool for having as an Offensive Coordinator.

I often wonder if it hurts for people to talk out of both sides of their mouth.

My friend... it is the total lack of thought behind so many of these threads that is making me crazy...its like screaming "do something!!! even if it is wrong!!! just do something!!!"

I appreciate the fact that the fans hate to lose... but come on people give your suggestions a dose of reality and thought before posting...sheesh

That is exactly what they are doing.

Like they would be any happier if we had 2 GMs the last 12 years with the same results and were now going to hire our 3rd. I have never seen a GM with more power than Jerry. He supposedly has some kind of mystic juju that prevents coaches from coaching, players and from playing, and fans from thinking straight.

5-11 was a long time ago and at that time expectations were very low. I don’t see how you can compare that to now. I think a logical well-balanced person would expect this team to have been a playoff team.

I'm comparing how I manage my expectations. After three 5-11 seasons, I tend to keep my expectation measured until they prove they can actually achieve something. Last year and maybe 2006 (Seattle) were the only years I thought they could do some damage, but it took until the middle of the season before I started buying. They failed each time.

This year, they were so inconsistent from the start, I don't know how anyone thought they could make it to the super bowl. I just hoped they could make the playoffs. They didn't.

Next year, I don't know what to think. Especially since they're returning pretty much the same team.

That would be nice. I say hire Shanahan even if Garrett stays. Offer Wade the DC job and if does not want it then get rid of him. Having coach cupcake comming back as head coach next year is a recipe for disaster.

Yes, but i think people adjusted their expectations after starting the season 4-3. Most fans were just hoping for the playoffs with the Giants so far ahead in the division. Unless real changes are made this offseason, i think expectations will be low again. 5-11 days may be back.

Some people adjusted their expectations, but there were some who were expecting the 'boys to make a 2007 Giants run.

There are changes Wade can make, but I don't think he's going to turn into a stark raving lunatic either, nor a cold-hearted disciplinarian. There's a middle ground and mostly, it involves emphasizing fundamentals.
