If the Cowboys get thumped by the Falcons its not gonna be solely on Weedens shoulders. If they get blown out by a mediocre team then doesn't that mean their problems go deeper than their qb?
Who's to say Atlanta is a mediocre team? This is a new season and you can't judge teams based on how they performed last season or the year prior. Everyone thought the Cowboys were mediocre at best after week 2 last season based off their previous 4 seasons but they ended up being a very solid 12-4 team that won a playoff game. Go back to week 2 of the 2012 season the Cowboys got thumped by a Seattle team everyone thought was lousy based on their previous seasons but they ended up being an 11-5 team that won a playoff game en route to becoming a great team. Right now Atlanta has the same 2-0 record as the Cowboys and they've looked very good offensively with the Ryan to Julio Jones connection. The QB/WR combo they have gives them an edge going into tomorrow's game. It's early in the season but they've played well so far and could end up being an excellent team. The Cowboys are very undermanned right now with all the significant players they've lost.
On paper they look mediocre and tomorrow's game along with the rest of the games they'll be playing without Romo and the other players they've lost is going to be a real challenge. Any team fielding a top 10 QB is going to put the Cowboys at a disadvantage with Brandon Weeden at QB and the lack of having a topflight #1 WR. If the Cowboys get thumped tomorrow some of it will be due to Weeden playing poorly. I don't see the Cowboys taking a beating unless Weeden is really off. Naturally he'll receive a brunt of the blame if things go horribly wrong tomorrow and they'll be plenty of Brandon Weeden hate threads. Losses are never all on the QB but they do take a lot of the blame if they don't play well.
