This has been floating around the site for a little bit, but I'm just no reading it, so I'm just now commenting, too.

I'll believe it when I see it. He said the exact same "man in the mirror" thing last year.

There's no need for evaluation, Jerry. You are not the man for the job and that is evident to everyone but you.

Is it Christmas?

April Fools?

I think Watkins makes the point that someone really needs to bring home to Jerry -- even if the team were to win a Super Bowl, it would be in spite of his GM abilities. If he was truly a major part of the 1990's success, we would have had more positives between 1994 and 2013. The ship has sailed. The only way he can get credit now is as the Owner who asks his GM to step down.

it took him nearly 2 decades to realize this? I doubt anything changes. It's easy to say, but I'll believe it when he's not always in the news, he's not undermining his head coach, and he hires a GM.

What a tool bag. 18 years haven't won a Super Bowl. Obviously you're the issue

It's way worse than 18 years and no Super Bowl. It's 18 years with only one playoff victory. It would be different if we had several trips to the conference championship or maybe played in a thrilling Super Bowl but came up a little short. But with only one playoff victory in nearly two decades, we're performing below average.

Maybe he should go gluten free.

He ain't steppin' down.

LOL!

Heck no... he's not stepping down BUT what if they (the Jones' clan) brought in a respected talented finder/builder and gave him a title and position where he (this person) was only responsible for Jerry? Would that be an improvement?

Troy Aikman and Will McClay would do it for me!

I've suggested this in the recent past. It's something nobody seems to talk about. It's either Jerry's the GM or he steps down. What if he brings in a personnel "consultant" to basically do the GM job while massaging Jerry's ego?

Is this possible? I have no idea.

This is a quote from a few weeks back, right? I suppose it might be responsible for the Linehan/Marinelli directives, but I'm not holding my breath. This is the sort of throwaway comment it's easy to make, but harder to believe he'll go through with in any measurable way.
