I am from Ohio visited Texas with family the week before last and saw H E B and asked my nephew who moved to Round Rock 5 years ago what it was, he told me it's basically our version of Kroger's.

Matter of time on this one seeing how HEB has increased their footprint dramatically in the DFW over the last few years. Started with one in Frisco, now there are multiple locations in other Dallas suburbs, and they’re still going. While some of their older stores are run down, the newer locations they are building with BBQ attached are very nice.

Their beer and wine selection rivals most boutique liquor stores. Only other place besides a few shops in Carrollton that get Other Half IPAs.

For those in the northeast, think of them as Wegmans … on steroids. I’d say that Kroger is comparable, but they really aren’t. Kroger is having to reshape their store locations as a result of HEB opening stores.
