When you have a terrible o-line you need to burn it down. Adding a 1st round pick to your interior o-line and a pro-bowler to your right tackle is the perfect way to completely retool an o-line.

Let's hope the Cowboys can get it done.

If he's not starting for Dallas he won't be starting. If he's cut he'll likely be a backup swing-tackle for the rest of his career on a 1.5-2.5 million dollar deal.

I know what Jerry said but that doesn't necessarily mean Free is gone, we have danced to this song befor only to find the object of our ire right where he was before Jerry addressed him. Also, if they cut him doesn't he still get his guaranteed money?

I agree with you. But, I'm sure we have both been wrong before. Free has played RT, LT, and then RT, in three years. And the guard next to him on the right sucked. I think he'll be fine this year.

Don't know any team that is going to want to pay him more than the vet minimum. That being said I simply mean in that range. I think it would be beneficial for him to stay on the team he is, in the state he lives, and especially given the income tax situation.

The only advantage to going somewhere else would be the idea that he could start, and I think that time has come and gone for Free.

a fresh start would do him best, unless we don't bring in a vet and it's just a competition between him and Parnell. If that's the case, which I hope it isn't, then he should accept a paycut and stay. Likely won't get a better opportunity. However, if we sign Clabo or Winston and he's competing for the swing tackle spot, it's likely a better career move to go some where else, some where were he can likely step in and be the swing tackle at worst or even compete for a starting spot.

I wanted DJ Fluker REALLY REALLY bad in the first round. Would have loved to get him and Fredrick and plug them in for the next decade.

Since we didn't though, hope we at least go after one of the FA RT's.. whichever one we think is best.

Come on guys, let's not take this to the crazy level. Has Free's play been poor the last two years for the most part? An obvious yes. However, he has played well before so we know he's capable. Why has his play dropped off when it can't be attributable to age? I have no idea. Unless he's had some type of unknown injury, I'd say it has to be something with his technique. Do I want an upgrade as a starter? Another obvious yes. However, like I said, he has played well before. I'd love to have an experienced starter at LT and RT on the roster as a backup if he takes an appropriate pay cut. Anyone that says otherwise just isn't being honest.
