If we could come out of free agency with Moore and Winston/Clabo, I think a lot of fans will be excited about the offense.

Imagine

Smith - Livings/Leary - Frederick - Moore - Winston/Clabo

I think that is a pretty strong set up. And you don't need to sign guys like Moore or Winston/Clabo to long term deals. I'm thinking 1, 2, or 3 year contracts. This gives us time to draft replacements over the next few years, and develop them at whatever pace we need to.

We go out there with that line, and the weapons we've assembled, and we stay healthy... To me that looks like a top 3 offense in the NFL.

These are our rankings for our offense

2012: 6
2011: 11
2010: 7
2009: 2
2008: 13
2007: 3
2006: 5

But that's only based on yards

What are our rankings based on points?

2012: 15
2011: 15
2010: 7
2009: 14
2008: 18
2007: 2
2006: 4

So the issue has certainly been able scoring points. The only constant has been Tony Romo. He's really the only thing that keeps us ranked anywhere decent, but he can't score points on his own. I think getting him more redzone threats helps tremendously, but we also have to give him a running game.

The FO likes Costa and he just signed an extension. Jerry has twice come out the last month and said he could play there at a vey high level and that they are proud of having him. Lol!

Whether we agree with Jerry or not they have that opinion and expect injury aside he will be a starter at C or OG which is his original position anyways.

They save $ cutting Livings and could use that along with the probable savings we will get no matter how we deal with Free to sign which looks more likely to be Clabo since theres an agreement in principle already in place with his people. At least thats what was reported. Moore apparently had $ talks as well but was asking for more than we wanted to give.

If we signed both Clabo and Moore consider that a very big coup and our OL set for zone blocking with adequate depth shall in jury occur to a starter.

Smith Moore Frederick Costa Clabo

Thats a good OL with 1 rookie starter who was the highest rated player at his position in the draft. 3 youngs players starting and 2 proven vets that would probably be fairly priced with lot of gas left. All players on the line scheme suited.

since we didnt get but one lineman in the draft......which I dont understand at all. We need to just cut Free and sign Clabo or Justice. Maybe another guard too.

I think the Cowboys front office has more faith in our OL then most fans, but with the emphasis on Tony Romo I think we add another piece.

All you heard from Jerry Jones was Tony Romo this, Tony Romo that, Romo and more Romo, so that tells me he is going to do everything in his power to make sure he looks like a genius of giving him an extension.
