Contractual terms are not a given but the contract itself is a highly probable outcome.I can see a 5yr, 275M contract for Dak. Jerry loves his QB. Dak will get it all guaranteed with a no trade clause.

Good luck with that one...... Dak doesn't get to play the Gnats again in the playoffsI hope he can play like this in the playoffs
That's how it should be, but we all know how things go around here. Stats mean much more than wins and championships. It shouldn't be that way but it is.I have to disagree, my brother. I think it's not "rightfully so" until we see his playoff performance. I'm not a fan of regular season warriors since the goal is the Super Bowl
Listening to the broadcast last night hard to argue.Let the extension comments (for or against) start to flow...
Yep spot on, Jerry loves to pay his QB's (did it with Romo) up front and then spreading out repayments through the length of the contract. In other words, the Eagles and Cowboys structure their QB's contract differently. The Cowboys QB contracts are structured to allow future extensions if needed or put another way, like a line of credit (lol).
They will give Dak a bump in salary next season and break up the cap holds. There is no way the Cowboys cut Dak next offseason or let him play with that $60 million cap hit.Yep, but as we know if it's a short deal we need to still add the deferred bonus ($25m 2024, $36m 2025). The other issue is that Dak's due to receive $34m salary in 2024.
Wasn't Hurts injured which effected the Eagles ability to kill the game (and the secondary is their only real weakness - but yes he played well).Listening to the broadcast last night hard to argue.
1) Virtually everyone, including a lot of media critics, said the Cowboys were better than Philly. If they clean up a couple of fairly minor things, they win that game.
2) Dak has now had more 400 yard games at this stage of his career than any but two others. Three straight 400 including vs. Philly.
3) HIs last string of three (I think) games is something like 15 TDs to 2 INTs.
4) Ya gotta admit, some of those throws last night were perfect. I even thought, "Oh, no, he can't make that." But what a difference CeeDee makes.
5) All season he has not gotten the protection he needs, mostly due to the decline of Smith (who still graded out almost perfect in pass blocking in the Philly game) and Steele. (At least Steele was a little better in the run game last night.
6) Olsen said Dak had to be in the discussion for MVP, as did Stroud. After yesterday's game, have to agree about Stroud.
you won't be able to convince the Cowboy about any truth in your statement...he is happy with Dak pounding scrubs, and based upon this a $$$$ extension is well deserved. The rest of us wait until he wins the big game before this happens, and would love to be proved wrongHow are your determining "craps the bed", as his last two play-off exits ended with the ball in his hands and him coming up short, which in the harsh world of win/lose sport that's crapping the bed.
I totally agree that Dak is playing probably his best football, though it still results in us coming up short against play-off quality teams. My whole 'issue' with Dak isnt that he's not good enough it's that he has that one glaring whole in his game (clutch >2min comebacks) and that we just dont have the CAP to produce a team that has killer O-Line that ensures protection/running game which can ensure an early lead (for Dak to play his game).
The only 'bump in salary' would be via a signing bonus on a new contract. The alternative is we can kick some of 2024's salary into the 2025 void year and make the decision then, where we have more available CAP.They will give Dak a bump in salary next season and break up the cap holds. There is no way the Cowboys cut Dak next offseason or let him play with that $60 million cap hit.
2) what about his performances in the playoffs? Oh, I forgot, we only celebrate regular season accomplishments around hereListening to the broadcast last night hard to argue.

I agree he will get a bump in salary and that extra will be put on those voidable years. The only 'bump in salary' would be via a signing bonus on a new contract. I agree we aren't going to cut him, even as a post June cut.
We saw plenty of talent yesterday an overabundance of talent to beat the worst team in football. That was really the crying song as no real talent apparently showed it's head yesterday. I myself, aren't dependent upon insulting Jerry or the team. They are now 6-3 now. Yet some fans are so damn sophisticated and full of unrevocable wisdoms.
when he signed dak to 40 mil contract, he said he likes to overpay lol, and if he pays dak more than what ever the top pay is, it also gets media attention,What's your point in so much questions which you already have answers to? You know what I mean. We've all seem Dak and the team "crap the bed" in the playoffs. Same thing goes with any future contract extension. There is only so much of the salary cap available. Best to be able to stretch it out to keep this team competitive.
no jerry will keep on being gm as long as he can um ah talkIn the words of Clint Eastwood a man has to know his limitations and I'm in hopes that at some point Jerry realizes his and hires somebody to do the job better than he is capable of doing it.
And that's also not his son who could possibly be worse than him
I hope you are wrong on both points when it comes to today's Jerry, brother. Jerry is hurting (holding this team back from being able to go further) this team with his overpays.when he signed dak to 40 mil contract, he said he likes to overpay lol, and if he pays dak more than what ever the top pay is, it also gets media attention,
and we all know jerry likes media attention!
So I expect no discount from dak, and he will get whatever is top pay at that time.
He will also be paying lance way more than a normal bkup qb.
Which is ironic since he was one of the ones that campaigned hard for and pushed through a salary cap.when he signed dak to 40 mil contract, he said he likes to overpay lol, and if he pays dak more than what ever the top pay is, it also gets media attention,
