They seem to be trying awfully hard to convince us that they made the right decision at pick #12.
Successful GMs and coaches could care less what fans think. They wouldn't tell us they made the right choice. They would show us if they hadn't already been successful before.
Here is a question:
What is Jerry and/or Stephen going to do over the next 2-4 seasons as each of these 1st round picks expect to get paid even if they do deserve it.
Either way, it's over in a matter of a few years. You want to keep your successful 1st round picks but when 3 to 4 players eat half the cap or play the same position then value has been wasted.
There has to be a balance. The majority of good O-lines have a few 1st and 2nd round picks, some lower round picks and perhaps even an undrafted player. They have different salary expectations unless they make a Pro Bowl or All-Pro selection.
There is another question:
Who will this emerging dominant unit be run blocking for? If you think that player is coming tomorrow then you can blame yourself for the bitter disappointment that follows.
