I am ummm frustrated ummm relative to the ummm involvement of ummm our Johnny Walker Blue drinking ummm "GM" in the draft process ummm relative to the ummm decision to ummm take a QB with the ummm fourth overall ummm pick. Umm.

I read that in Jerry's voice as soon as i saw that first "ummmm."......lol

This is a good choice considering the talent at the position in this years Draft. A 3rd Tier QB like Prescott, Jones, Cook or Driskel could trump Wentz in the long run, others like Hackenberg. Allen looked decent as well.

Would Wentz have won more games in 2015? Because the only QB that would have that assumption in my view is Goff.

You can't spend a #4 for a "maybe" QB when you already have a starting QB. Pick for the future by securing the best football player, not reaching for what if.

I think jerry means it, 4-5 more years lol:thumbup:
They wont take a QB , and no telling what they will take.
Heck he doesnt know.

Jerry will do as he has always done, try to do whatever with 2016 only in mind, he wants impact players
that can be used in 16, for the SB run !:banghead:

What is hilarious is that people still think that Jerry is running player personnel acquisition and retention.

These people claim to be fans....but fail to understand the most simple and obvious realities about their "favorite" team.

I agree. But the fact that the 4-5 coincides with the length of the rookie contract is too convenient here. Tony's old enough that the 5 years is a giant stretch. And if we didn't really want a QB, Jones' interest would be to keep his mouth shut to let people think we did.

I'm calling BS. I think we like at least one guy, and I think we'll take him if the right guy is there. It's a huge mistake not to.

Now, we might pass on a QB at four if our guy's off the board already. That I could see.

I agree. I absolutely love Romo but there's no way he goes 4-5 years. I'd say 2-3. I also think that it's entirely possible he won't make it through entire seasons but as long as there are no season ending injuries and he's around at the end we have a shot.

I also agree we like one guy too but if it looks like he won't be there we won't make a move to get him.

Please tell me we're in that period of the offseason where we're supposed to assume everything coming out of the GM's mouth is intentional misdirection!

Im in the group that only wants QB at 4 if player is best available and I also believe Romo will play a couple more years but to think Romo will play 4-5 more years (age 40) is insane. I think Jerry just throwing smoke up so people don't trade up in front if they want QB at 4

A starting qb that can't stay on the field and will have a plate inserted onto his collarbone. As for a "maybe" qb, you can say that about any position. A "maybe" de, dt, cb, lb, rb, etc.

I love me some Tony. I would love for him to play and get the team a couple of SBs, but unless he's suited with some kind of Kevlar Batsuit uniform I think Jerry smoking better stuff than me.

Jerry speak. Translated it means no need to jump over us folks because we're not taking a quarterback

Hopefully you are correct. That was my first thought as well.

Jones said he believes Romo "will be doing the heavy lifting for us at quarterback and for the team for the next four or five years."

Sounds like the complete and utter delusional ramblings of a man not living in reality....of course this is the same man that stated a day before the draft a few years back that he would never draft a kicker and then went on to draft two.

The fact that Tony has a horrible back makes it a classic Jerry-isum

Heavy lifting you can't make it up.

I like them both, actually. I'd be happy with either.

And the Cowboys might like them both, too. But I suspect they at least genuinely like Wentz.

I'm in complete agreement with you. I'd be happy with either, but I think the Cowboys might be focused on Wentz. But if that's the case, I'm starting to wonder if the Cowboys would consider moving up to #1 overall.

Jerry does talk too much. And for a billionaire, he's an awful poker player. He just can't keep his tail from wagging.

Yeah, he loves him some attention.

nothing would shock me with Jerry, but QB has to be the pick at 4. Jerry and his band of idiots would be stupid to pass on a QB.

They might be stupid as you say but, I think you are going to be sorely disappointed on draft day one. He's not lying when he says that this year is all
about getting Romo and Witten to the playoffs. Not going to draft a QB to sit on the bench. Prescott might be an option in the 3rd or 4th. They seem
to like him.

The top two quarterbacks are a legitimate bet...and unless someone moves up with an over payment or offers Dallas the moon, they'll take the QB in their laps.

You must not have listened closely to the hour long interview. Jerry said that the hardest thing he has to do this year is fix the defense. He's not sure
he can get it done. He's not going to draft a QB to sit when he needs defense all day and lineman in particular. QB is out until the 3rd round at least.
Jerry did not lie when he said it's all about getting to a SB this year and he's going all in to get there. Look for an experienced backup to be brought
in to help ROMO...

We are.

Fact is we considered Manziel two years ago. We aren't wasting resources interviewing quarterback prospects of we truly felt it was a fact Romo would be here for 5 more years.

We wasted resources marching RBs in last spring and it resulted in nothing.

If anything, he is not considering a QB at 4. I have all but buried that notion. I just don't want to bother at all with the position if that is the case, at least in the first three rounds. Let him make this idiot bed and sleep in it.
