Jerry Jones says we can get away with lesser talent on OL

So Jerry lets Spencer walk, and picks up a pass rusher with the first rounder cause he has shown in the past that he will draft pass rushers high even when he has drafted busts. Then he goes safety with the next pick, if he doesn't get one in free agency.

Think it should be written on the wall, but some are in denial for their own agenda. I just hope he goes BPA and doesn't reach for any position, cause we need youth at every position.

This is nothing new...they've had this philosophy for several years now.

So just because Romo has the ability to run for his life, he should have to? This team...

If they really mean this, it would be hard to blame him if he left.
Some around here would like that anyway.

Not even little bit surprised. You don't go 15 years in NFL as GM with virtually zero success by being good at your job.

It helps when you own the team and your measurement of success is stadium revenue and merchandise sales.

Yeah, let's keep our quarterback running around for his life every damn game...

I didn't know it was possible for me to hate someone so much as I do towards Jerry Jones. I don't mean to beat a dead horse, but it's just ridiculous. What games does this senile old man even watch?

The point Jerry is making about Romo's mobility is that you can't have it all with salary cap and Romo prefers concession on OL than WR-TE

really doubt Romo wouldn't prefer to have protection and a run game

"Jones reasons that the Cowboys can get by with lesser talent along the offensive line because of Romo's expert mobility. When forced to choose, the team will invest more resources in wide receivers and tight ends.

Even if this were true.

It is true, just not smart if Dallas wants to be anything more than a .500 team.

Romo makes the line look better than it is, but can't make the team score more points when the pass protection fails him too often to continually drive the team downfield with success and the running game can't get any traction.

Sounds like ya'll are being sucked.

As much as Jerry Jones lies, it is funny how when he tells the truth, people think it is a "smokescreen".

This man is about as transparent as it gets when it comes down to real decisions that matter.

It is a big reason why he is easily outsmarted by the majority of the NFL braintrust.

He has not conned anyone since Jimmy Johnson left and it is no accident.

Sounds like jerry was pointing out that they have been able to get away with lesser talent because Romo is so mobile. And he is right. How many times have we seen Romo do it. The problem is the running game.

There isnt a really big hole on this team besides OL and S. DL, IMo dallas is fine with Ratliff and Hatcher, with Lissemore and even if they decide to keep Spears. But a Dt later in the draft or a FA will help. DE Crawford will start.

OL should be a priority this offseason.

And its equally as funny as fans thinking the media is always taking things out of context, that is until the interview Jerrys. Then everything is dead on accurate.

I don't think the media does anything but report what is said and it is up to the individual to have a brain and filter through it.

I can tell you from experience that Jones believes this is the case.

You only have to look back one year to where he thought two garbage guards could make this offensive line worth anything.

So how exactly do you craft a running game with lesser talent?

Either you commit to the running game or you don't.

That means you make it a priority.

That does not mean draft or acquire another running back because you feel the Murray injury issues last season were a bigger problem than the awful blocking in front of whomever was carrying the ball.

But Stephen Jones has already confirmed that is the way they are thinking.

And that, is no "smokescreen" either because neither one of them is capable of outsmarting teams that have intelligent football minds running them.

Awful.

It's not rocket science that our OL really hurt our team last year

Ron Leary won't save our season.
