If that's the thinking, this team will be down for a long time...

This is probably the best, most well thought-out write up on the Cowboys-Manziel situation that I've read to date. Whether you love him or hate him, worth a read.
Jerry is right, Tony Romo can play another four or five years. What he did not say is he would not expect Romo to be very good.
Fajitas?I loved Johnny Football at A&M and I'll admit that when it he plays in the NFL I usually try to tune in but he CAN'T play here in Dallas. Can you imagine the circus that would attract? I've had enough about Krakens, monkeys and stealing underwear. Anytime Johnny Football had a drink at a Chilis, it would cause a global nuclear meltdown in the media with Ed Werder standing in front of grilled fajitas as he reports on the circumstances. No thanks.
This is coming from a guy who wanted the Cowboys to draft JF in the first place. I can admit I'm wrong.
So Jerry is probably thinking to himself, "If we had drafted JFF, we would probably have won most of those games that Romo missed and be in the division lead. I knew I was right--validation! No way I'm going to let them outvote me again. 2016 is going to be Jerry's draft!"
Said it countless times, his pathological optimism holds this franchise back in so many ways.
Nobody in the entire organization is going to question this outlook with realism. On the rare times someone talks sense to him and above all can make him understand, it is usually too late.
Look at Aikman. He continued to mortgage drafts to get him weapons when his back was shot. Then when it truly hits him, he panics.
the only reason JFF isn't on our roster right this moment is because the only organization in the NFL dumber than ours hasn't cut him yet. the second they cut JFF, jerry will sign him. if stephen tries to get in his way, papa jerry will lay down the law this time with his belt.

The full rebirth will be complete when Jerry dons a sweet looking white sweat suit for a press conference.
