I am getting really bored with this. Youre getting accolades for this post when it boils down to the same lame argument. 'We haven't won a playoff game in a long time and Jerry is the GM/owner so therefore it is his fault' and this time its not even worded differently.

Its cute that the mob mentality lauds this as some coup. Its sad really.

If there was a number one reason why we didn't do well last season I would put injuries and Ed Werder up there before Jerry's action as a GM.

Is Jerry free from blame? Of course not but this idea that we can just get some random GM and things will be jolly is intellectually bankrupt.

People want quick simple fixes because its easy and generally people are intellectually lazy. Its also an easy target for people to *****.

OTOH, I tried ro bring up Stephen taking over for his father which is in reality the only other option based in reality that there is. Did people want to talk about that? No of course not they want to ***** and moan about Pacman and Jerry's supposed meddling.

You started this thread and people gave you 22 pages worth of responses and you charcaterize them as intellectually lazy? Why not just start the thread and let people know that, no matter what their answer was going to be, it wasn't going to be enough so save your time and effort.

Anyone that feels that Ed Werder had more to do with this teams demise than it's owner/GM is just being delusional and downright ridiculous. There's a lame argument here alright, but it doesn't belong to the previous poster (Venger), it now official belongs to the guy who blamed Ed Werder. But I gotta hand it to you, that's a new one and I can appreciate the lengths people will go to to defend and excuse Jerry Jones.

You now have the team speaking out about chemistry or lack thereof. You had a HOF QB who played on championship caliber teams telling you the same thing early on and Jerry just excused it as having no relevance or impact as to what happens on the field; moreso, Jerry stated that he welcomed it. Wade towed the same company line after 30 years of coaching experience in which he should have known better.

Jerry made glaring errors in underestimating the impact of a soft coach, as well as the impact of some of these questionable characters he brought into the locker room. Jerry himself admitted that Wade's going to change. Wade admitted that he's going to change. This is an affirmation of their error in the first place and you chose to remain blind to it. That's fine. This team is a circus that's in utter disarray and on downward spiral...damn that Werder.

I agree Ed Werder didn't create that big of a problem. Seems it could be bigger than most of us thought but I'm not certain what came out of all that.

Lombardi said it simply a long time ago. Football is blocking and tackling. Sure schemes play a role. They allow you to put people in better situations to excel given their talents. So very important. But nothing is as important as blocking and tackling. The Cowboys need to remember that.

Your defensive insecurity is noted. However, it is indeed that simple, to those not obsequiously devoted to the Cowboys organization. Were we to transfer your logic to other field, then no CEO would be fired, because after all, he didn't design the car, he didn't build the car poorly, he didn't give the car a bad review, he just runs the company. I mean for God's sake, where on earth else do you find people willing to absolve those with primary responsibility and authority of the end result? If the Cowboys were publicly traded, Jones would have been forced out LONG ago.

Of course you would, because some odd loyalty transference has taken place akin to Stockholm Syndrome - call it Valley Ranch Syndrome. You argue like an abused spouse, trying to deflect and create pretexts that absolve those primarily responsible for the outcome. And those who don't agree are just part of the "mob" - we haven't thought for ourselves, we're just engaged in panicky groupthink. Except there is only one person in this argument who has demonstrated the logical connection between cause and effect - Jerry isn't a happy accidental bystander, he is the primary actor. He has the ultimate power, and the responsibility. Let me know when you can respond to that, rather than getting ticked because people agree with my post and then tossing out reckless rhetoric.

Another red herring from you - what is your disconnect? Stating that Jerry is doing poorly at GM is not arguing for some random hiring. It makes it easier for you to misrepresent what has been said, but it's specious nonetheless. In a nutshell, what people are arguing is that the defects on this team are due to decisions made repeatedly over time by ONE MAN. That is all. This franchise hasn't been successful in a dozen years. Is it Ed Werders fault every year? Snicker...
