Jerry Jones: You won’t see a more gifted passer than Brandon Weeden

So he basically said he has a strong arm and nice delivery. What's the big deal about that?

When you say passer it means QB position, when you say thrower, ball passer, etc you are talking about ability. Weeden has ability but he is not a gifted passer.

Just wait most of you are underestimating what this guy will do. One week at a time and fly under the radar, this week the Falcons are in for a rude awakening.

I don't understand. They expect Jerry to come out and throw Weeden under the bus to them? C'mon guys, you must've forgotten about JJ's 40 year old brain.

Reminds me of what Dennis Miller said of Jeff George when Miller was in the "Monday Night Football" booth: "He throws a pretty interception."

Most gifted passer I ever saw was Joe Gilliam as far as throwing a beautiful pass. Jeff George also comes to mind. Note the results.

if you read the whole quote he said he throws nice passes but it takes more than that to be a qb you have to read the whole quote

Why would we read the whole quote when we can read just a smackerel of it and jump to outlandish conclusions about JJ's sobriety, brain age and other things? Where's the fun in that?

Jerry is right
Weeden is a very gifted passer
He can make every throw
And Jammer is right
There is much more to being a QB than just being a good passer
I think if we can get the penalties under control and the oline playing good football we can manage to stay in the race till tony returns
But Weeden is gonna need help, mostly from the oline but the defense is also going to have to keep playing great ball and getting turnovers

Yes. Weeden also said he's relying on Tony for some help during this strech of games and I think Tony will be able to help him with understanding some things and reading dfenses.

In terms of throwing a fast ball with a tight spiral, sure. But that's not all that being a passer encompasses.

And, quite frankly, in terms of decision making, Weeden looked good in preseason and in the Eagles game. So who knows what will happen.

Weeden IS a very natural passer with a very strong arm. The guy even had a 100 mph fast ball as a pitcher.

Of course, that makes up only a fraction of the requirements to be a good QB.

But yes, he can spin it.
