Jerry Jones: Zeke was (picked) too high for us"

I mean your trying to say if Dallas drafted Wentz we had a better team around him than the team that actually won a SB with his Backup? come on Jazz thats a stretch....
Hence the :popcorn::popcorn::muttley:

But after that his career spiraled down. I don’t think that happens in Dallas. Just an opinion based on the continuity here as opposed to the coaching changes at Philly.

And with the team in 2016 , and beyond with that OL. , who says they would not have won a SB. All just a wild guess.

Stop lying Jerry.. you picked him for Romo, but you blew it with the Dak starting disaster

Zeke’s value was also seen at that point in time when he was suspended 6 games.. Zeke’s life span for a RB was pretty much right in line with what RBs are..

Zeke also got Dak his fat contract..

Romo and Dak may have ruined any chance of "Top QB pick incomming"... Jerry takes both of those as huge wins and probably birngs them up to other GM's when trying to say how smart he is..go back to 1995 its easy to find the exact moment the franchise was doomed.

The defence says they would not have won a SB...but yes any given Sunday I'm just not sure what Wentz does to improve that.

I had no problem with the Zeke pick and still don't. The pick that made me mad in that draft was when we passed on Chris Jones in the 2nd for Jaylon Smith. Picking a guy that was severely injured in the 2nd round was just plain stupid.
On point. That Jaylen pick pissed me off and dampened my first round happiness.
did jerry admit he made a mistake? Sounds like it to me...we should all be happy that he is seeing things like that and correcting how he is thinking about things going forward...
Not really. He rarely learns from mistakes. 27 years and counting.

I understood it at the time. The Cowboys best season in many years had been 2014 when the offense had a heavy running element, and it was understandable the team would want to continue with that path. It looked like a great move during Zeke's rookie season, but I'm not sure Zeke had the kind of focus to keep it going.

Was good pick at the time because it would have been Romo's last hurrah with a great OL and Zeke was amazing that year. But I always questioned the amount of the contract he got after that.

His career doesn't spiral in Dallas because Jerry wouldn't have the guts to move on from him.

Wentz's 2017 season alone would have been enough for Jerry to make him QB for life.

And if we drafted Ramsey nothing would have changed and we'd be saying why didn't we take Zeke. It's easy to second guess in hindsight.

I listened to the PC, i don’t think that is what he said. Not to mention , Jane also interpreted it differently

Cowboys stand by zeke pick

Has Jerry ever admitted a mistake? No.

I think it did help them though.

The logic was to help Romo and that piece may very well have put us over the top and in the Super Bowl had Romo stayed healthy.

It also took a lot of pressure off Dak at a time where if the left tackle set out a game his career was in jeopardy.

Zeke and the OL is the only reason Dak gained the confidence to last this long.
Sure it helped, but was the wrong pick. Heck even Jerry admitted as much.

I'm not the biggest fan of picking RBs in the first round unless it's some freak of nature however that position can go from hero to zero insanly quickly. However signing them to a big contract is dumb as hell.

Zeke was drafted to give one of the final pieces to Romo on offense. Between zeke and the OL in 16 that was argurably superbowl territory and are best chance to win. Jerry and co basically shot themselves in the foot starting Dak

Zeke is what made Dak. Why Dak looked his best his rookie year(plus Romo and fredbeard helping with plays and reads x1000)

Now don't get me wrong Dak would still be where he is today but that 2016 team with Romo should have been the year if he stayed healthy
