Jerry should be non committal why would he come out right now with still one game left to play and a lot of decisions to be made come out and tell the public the public you all got some big egos thinking you should be like part of the process like he needs to put you guys on FaceTime maybe we had a big zoom meeting so he can let you hear it and see every phone call every e-mail and every little thing they do up there so you can feel part of it is that what you guys want you need a little pat on the back no that's not how it works he keeps being asked and he keeps saying he choosing not to talk about it at this time...

I find it hilarious that I'm betting that if you look at this more like let's say Amazon or Nike or Coca-Cola or some of these big companies like Exxon Mobil just because you own stock in some of those companies don't mean they let you in on all the company secrets and the daily happenings of their management they absolutely do not you know nothing most of it is very secretive it's all called proprietary information they do not wish to share with anyone including employees they're not part of the inner circle of management and ownership you know the board of directors they do not ask people's permission to make decisions nor do they need the help of a to do so because this is a giant corporation there are 1200 employees that are part of the Dallas Cowboys organization alone and that's just one of their companies..

As big a mouth as Jerry has as much as he likes to talk he is right in this situation he doesn't have a decision to be made nor is he gonna allow you to help him make the decision there needs to be some time to sort all this out and he's gonna do it at his own pace anybody who thinks he should do it any other way you guys have a giant ego and you need to really rethink your 2025 because the things you were saying and doing in 2024 may not have been correct you are not important in the grand scheme of things when it comes to the Dallas Cowboys even though you think you are you have no control of what's going on nor should you be invited in to the decision making and needed a hour by hour and a day by day report directly to you that's just insane...

Not at all reassuring. Could just be posturing, but any other time McClay had a chance to leave, Jerry gave him whatever he wanted.

McClay isn't perfect but has seemingly kept Jerry from himself for many years. I would be very scared without him in the draft room and instead have just Jerry and Stephen in control plus whatever positional coach they want to justify their predetermined, unqualified decision

Will McClay is the bandaid over an arterial bleed. Clearly it's not good enough but he's kept us alive.

Maybe we need to let them bleed out before they realize change is needed.

Either way, I'm not concerned. McClay has to have been complicit in a lot of this nonsense.

Good point, actually. I kind of agree with this; let them see how bad it it can get

I mean McClay has been his shadow/right hand man forever and day. I'm pretty confident no one outside their family is trusted more. So why would his contract even get to this point UNLESS McClay wanna finally consider other options?

BTW ....I don't think any of this is a coincidence but we will see.

Drafting quality NFL players is a tough job.

Many more fail than succeed.

As well as McClay has done with some of his picks it may be time for him to move on. He’s had more clunkers the last few years but is it all on him?

Something tells me the coordinators have say in who they want as well, so the onus may be on them. Guess we’ll never know.

we've already seen how bad it can get. McClay is the one keeping this from being a total dumpster fire. 2009 special teams draft anyone?

It's extremely difficult to compete against other front offices when you're limited solely to the draft while other FOs such as the eagles ALSO use free agency effectively.

McClay is one of the only reasons we have been able to keep this team afloat with minimal free agency signings. There are going to be some hits and misses but I find it funny how many guys are trying to lump him in with Jerry and Stephens foolishness. Id trust McClay if he was the GM vs Jerry or Stephen period.

I seriously have doubts that Jerry and Stephen follow what McClay, and the scouts have to say about their prospective draft picks. They have followed advice from other coaches and staff members in the past who don't know what they're talking about. McClay and the scouts can only recommend what to do but can't control what the FOs execs do, instead. It's just fools trying to imitate "football guys" that control far too many things.

While McClay is not blame free, I think he has been responsible for harnessing in Jerry and Stephan from their recklessness for a few years - but, that does appear to be slipping.
The trade for Lance. Without any input from anyone other than Jerry shows this. Also, the Mingo trade while smart in theory, does not look like anything more then Jerry trying to prove he's smarter than anyone else. And failing again.
I remember Parcells saying he could only coach a team for a limited amount of years - because eventually the players tune you out after hearing the same thing year after year.
Had McClay reached that point ? That the Joneses don't hear him anymore ?
We are royally screwed if that's the case !
McLay is their information guy. They rely on him to make informed decisions bc they don't know anything. This is why we follow a draft board rather than targeting specific players. Jerry and Stephen rarely ever deviate from the draft board. Their knowledge of the college football landscape is on par with that of a casual fan.

McLay gets input from coaches and uses that to set his draft board. It's been this way since the Sharif Floyd debacle in 2013 where Marinelli declared he didn't want the player and there was a mess in the war room that resulted in a rushed trade back for less than full value of the pick.

I really think they need an upgrade in the scouting department. But, Jerry usually rolls with whoever makes him most comfortable. So, McLay will likely stay unless he decides he wants a GM title somewhere else. I can't imagine many offers coming his way this offseason.

Cowboy drafts lately have been real ball busters!!!! High round picks are struggling to make their footprint in the NFL. It appears now that our high draft picks should have been late round picks at best and the people responsible for them, other than the GM/Owners probably need to be shown the door. What's worse is Cowboy late round picks are bombing at an alarming rate too and it's the late round picks that our football experts need to get right! because they makeup/take-up are large part of the team's depth chart/rosters.

Gotta keep the Will man jeez all those Studs like Taco, Mazi, Guyton, and let's not forget the tons of wasted # 2 picks from Jaylon to Bossman.
Watt Watt Watt nah Jerry Taco fits our scheme better..................
i was crushed when we took Taco over younger watt brother....all based on Marinelli....he wont fit out scheme....that sack master would fit any scheme.....i watched Taco college tape

and he would barely get a hand on them and swing around and some fell down.....i understand Guyton....he may grow into decent LT....but Mazi....they messed with him making him

lose weight so as hopefully be faster rushing QB.....we need trash can full of sand....not more rushers....Jaylon could never overcome drop foot...but the doctor Jerry loves said he

would....stop betting on injured players in 2nd round...then spending a 1st on Cooper which was good move saved our season and we even won a wild card....only to let him go for

a 5th is maddening

we must reload our O line and D line and good running back to pair with Rico....and find some for the backfield....i wish Jerry would quit being influenced by Cap boy and do a super

reload in free agents and draft.....just one year.....dang it Jerry your team worth north of 10 billion

I think the three-headed GM thing is a serious detriment.

‘You get your way this time, I get my way next time….’ only leads to the all over the place strategy that happens by default.

You rely on draft only to build, then trade a fourth for a developmental QB who needs reps, then give Dak a record deal. One small example.

Control freaks who have no idea what they are doing and sometimes overrule the advice they ask and pay for. It’s why no one can figure out what they are actually trying to do.
