As much as everyone love to cherry pick big whiffs, the Cowboys as a whole have drafted very well over the last ~10 years.

If McClay left it might be the last sensible voice in the room gone and who do you think is going to make the picks then?

Would be an absolute disaster.

Draft isnt even the issue, theyve done all right but the front office refuses to improve the team through free agency or provide any depth

If you get injuries theres no way to compete. They are just too limited in team building. It cant be money because the cap can be manipulated and the teams make money regardless of how much they spend.

The only conclusions are:
They are selling the team and the above still dont make sense or theyve cracked up
Its pretty clear, Jerry is fine with being competitive, the Eagles FO are playing to win the superbowl.

We just need to get a bunch of people who can't put their left shoe on their right foot and let Booger show them how it's done.

Gotta keep the Will man jeez all those Studs like Taco, Mazi, Guyton, and let's not forget the tons of wasted # 2 picks from Jaylon to Bossman.
Watt Watt Watt nah Jerry Taco fits our scheme better..................
Everyone wiffs. But the Cowboys have been top 5 in drafting under Will McCray (since 2011). Our issue is we rely on just drafting and pair them with bad coaching and bad FA signings.

Not at all reassuring. Could just be posturing, but any other time McClay had a chance to leave, Jerry gave him whatever he wanted.

McClay isn't perfect but has seemingly kept Jerry from himself for many years. I would be very scared without him in the draft room and instead have just Jerry and Stephen in control plus whatever positional coach they want to justify their predetermined, unqualified decision
Jerry will just decide to take advice from Mel Kiper.

I don’t care. He can go too. He’s missed on more than he’s hit. He sucks.
There is really know way to know that. If the owner ignores the best player available and decides to draft for need how is that a scouts fault?

We can't assume Jerry picks 100% of the time what he recommends.

Was it Will's fault to ask Mazi to lose 30 pounds?

Will McClay, in his 21st season working in the Cowboys Personnel Department, was named the club's assistant director of player personnel in 2013 and senior director of pro/college scouting in 2015. He was named Vice President Player Personnel in 2017, and he will continue to oversee the club's NFL Draft process and play a key role in free agent and trade acquisitions.
Yes that's all true. But, he doesn't make the picks.

Idk what people are talking about, he's had some stellar drafts with this team. How many times over the past 10-15 years have we had enough talent around this team. He rebuilt this oline, gave us offensive weapons all around. Had a top defense a couple of years. People want to talk about the taco charltons of the world... you can't hit on every pick. It's unrealistic thinking. Didn't I read someone that out of the 32 teams, we've drafted more pro bowlers than a lot of them?

its not will mcclays fault that jerry can't and won't hire the right coaches. That has been the problem. Like for example, giving Wade Phillips, or Jason garret 8 or so years in this organization and be allowed to fail year after year. Will mcclay is a great executive and we'd be dumb to let him leave.

No, he's not.

Jerry is just going through his utterly transparent posturing. We all know the truth.

Jerry, just pay him his weight in gold and stop wasting everybody's time. McClay has better leverage than Dak, CeeDee and Micah combined.

I'm just curious how they could win 37 games in 3 years if the entire organization sucks? How is that possible?
