Lets not forget when a coaches/staff member contract expire they are free to leave and look for a job elsewhere. It would be kind of funny if MM, Zimmer, and McCray leave and say they left because of Jerry. (That would never happen but that would be funny).

As I recall in former times our draft picks are largely chosen by way of committee suggestions and votes.

Perhaps the entire process is due for reconsideration, and an opportunity to change the drafting process.

Other successful drafting is successfully accomplished, by way of competent GMs managing their drafts.

Our current method of drafting is done by way of people deciding, despite being incapable in such skills.

For a long stretch, the Cowboys were the best drafting team in the NFL. The last two years have really taken them down a notch though. There haven't been any late round steals like Bland and the top picks look bad to awful (Schoonmaker, Mazi, Guyton).

Maybe he was getting lucky before, unlucky now or something has changed. Maybe he just got complacent and lazy and isn't doing his homework. Either way, the shine is coming off.

One thing I will say is that a lot of the recent bad picks were picking for need instead of BPA. Part of the issue is Dallas' insistence on not using free agency to fill needs. That has the unintentional side effect of making the draft worse when you are 100% depending on the draft.

My Mexican?. Again, he oversees the draft process- does not have final say. You’re wrong……again. However, at least this time when you’re wrong you stuck around and didn’t hide for 4 months (although many appreciated you doing that).

“Recommends” isn’t dictating or deciding….for someone telling someone else they don’t understand English, you should make sure you can comprehend things as well.

Please keep this man. Trying to have a successful draft when Jerry's incompetence forces you to take positions over BPA is a monumental task. Without McClay I can't imagine the Cowboys are ever any better than the crap they put on the field this year

If you want to know what Jerry is like as a “draft guy”, look back on the drafts between about 1997-2009. Just awful. I’m very skeptical that Jerry would go back to that. Even he knows he sucks at personnel.

Dont care at this point. Not like McClay is some master draft guru. And if he is, we've seen the ceiling of the team with him in charge of it. Rather see it crash and burn than be in mediocrity

This is completely off base. McClay doesn't make the picks.

But actually he really does I mean how do you think he doesn't throughout the entire year in his scouting department he runs the entire scouting department he puts together all the boards he puts together the grades and the rankings and in what order he thinks the Cowboys should pick he has a lot of pull in there which by the way also the coaches have a lot of say and a lot of those bad picks came from some of the defensive and offensive coordinators and head coaches putting their paper with the names they want on the table then the Cowboys front office as a group like a board of directors they discuss all this and decide who they get this is not Jerry Jones picking these players by himself like you're insinuating so I know that's what you're trying to insinuate because if that were true Johnny Manziel would be part of this team and there'd be some far worse picks on this team if Jerry was just making these on his own/..

If you can't trust your scouting department and your assistant general manager slash head of the scouting department to help you create the right list and give you the right advice then what are we saying here, because you're trying to spin this as if this is a Jerry Jones or Steven Jones problem that is not true as a matter of fact Mike McCarthy came out about I don't know 6-8 weeks ago and he was asked about the roster and he literally in quotes that he has more power here on the roster building than he ever had with Green Bay that's odd right everyone says that Jerry meadows he doesn't allow his coaches to get the players they need because he puts the ones he wants in there and that is not true at all...

So will mcclay is partly responsible for the bad picks and we give him credit for all the good ones I think that the irony here is and that's what I've heard over the last decade every bad pick was Jones every good pick was mcclay how does that work I mean that's just the most ridiculous narrative another Jones family narrative not like I like these people I'm not supporting the Jones family I'm telling you they know how to run a business they run many different successful businesses like Papa John's or oil business they have so many of them I can't list how do you think they can run all these businesses they don't do it by themselves they have a group of management layers and layers of people and management to help them run these businesses the Dallas Cowboys are made-up of over 1200 employees if you count the players...​

You think the Jones family has time by themselves to sit up there at their desk and know exactly what all 1200 people are doing at the same time and make sure they micromanage every single one of them are you guys that delusional no they have a support group they have all kinds of management managers people who oversee everything and one of them is a very good and very big scouting department headed up by will mcclay so yes he has to take the good with the bad when these pics happen but a lot of these pics like Taco came because Jerry Jones caved because his defensive coordinator wanted that guy he didn't pick this guy on his own Jerry has no idea where even half these names in the draft come from or who they are until they are advised as such..​
