Twitter: Jerry on possible trades

Perhaps but hypothetically what happens if Parsons, already nursing a groin injury, goes down for numerous games? That would be a bigger loss than Dak's injury so sometimes it's best to prepare before things go wrong. Besides, adding a piece or two to this defense would only further go towards improving Dallas' chances this season. With upcoming contract decisions Dallas may have this year and next to make a run.....so while SF paid a heavy price to acquire CMC and just like the Rams did last season with getting OBJ and Von Miller sometimes you just have to go for it now.

So if you were GM you would go out and make some big trade and give away a first or 2nd rounder next season in anticipation of some big injury? How do you know who it is that is going to get injured?

My god, do you even think before you type?

Go for it? Arent you the guy that says we will never win anything with Dak as QB? Yet here you want to "go for it"?

So is all your drivel just lies?

What, you think we have a SB caliber team at the moment? This is news. Werent you predicting a below 500 record in preseason? Are you admitting you were wrong?

I wouldn't put too much into anything Jerry says to be honest. I mean what is he going to say to the media? "Yeah we talked to Carolina about DJ Moore, we are really hoping to land him before the deadline, our guys are terrible."

True or not Jerry is going to stick with his "we like our guys" line of thinking, because that creates the ability for him to walk away during any actual negotiations going on. Also doesn't destroy things

It's the same reason when I go to the car dealer I tell the salesman how much I love my current car.

49ers just made a sweet move. Jerry forgets:facepalm: In the NFL sometimes it's an arms race. Dallas IMO. Just needs 2 moves...DT and wideout. Lamb or Gallop go down we're toast.

I dont really think I have a player legitimately rumored to be available that makes alot of sense to us. DJ Moore gets alot of talk, but his contract and likely draft compensation makes it a poor move

Guys like Derrick Brown are pure fantasy

Agreed about Derrick Brown but here are some names of defensive players that would be worth looking into so as to further improve the defense: ARI LB/SS Isiah Simmons (allow Parsons to play more DE or be a near the line pass rushing SS), LV DE Clelin Ferrell (run stuffing DE), PITT DT Larry Ogunjobi (gets plenty of interior line push), CAR DT Matt Ioannidis (DE/DT experience), LV S Jonathan Abrams (good pass defense ratings), CHI DE Robert Quinn (pass rush help).

That is all fine and needs to be taken into account. But the players some fans want will take too much draft capital or the contract is not worth it.
But mostly they want a player that is not available. Like Vita Vea, then often in the same post call out the FO for being stupid for not doing it.

I am fine for a trade for a DT, but not at the expense of losing a top draft pick, unless he is that big difference maker. I doubt any are available.
Otherwise I stand by my posts, we don't needed any players that will be that big of an impact, for what it will take to give up.

Rams did 1/2 a year rental on Miller, then failed to retain him. Even though he helped win them a SB. They failed to sign him because most likely they could not afford to keep him. Jerry and Stephen would get raked over the coals for that. But yet Jerry is criticized for not signing him to the huge contract the Bills gave him. Rams get a pass for letting him go.

It was prefaced by Jerry talking about how they don't usually show much interest in players that are trying to force their way out their current situations whether it is money or coaches in reference to the DJ Moore trade talks.

Quote was a little out of context but that doesn't matter around here.

Where did I say trade a 1st or 2nd for a big name? Yet again you make crap up. Try reading the list of players I suggested, they are depth plus type guys who wouldn't cost a high draft picks while helping the defense.

Do yourself a favor and work on reading comprehension before typing as you keep making yourself look silly with your false claims.

LOL....I have a different strategy, I tell them all I wanna see is the invoice price, then make one take it or leave offer.

Roy I know you and I disagree quite a bit, but you are reading my mind today haha. I'm all for the Cowboys making moves, but this make moves to just be aggressive and make moves talk is ridiculous and fans are talking out of both sides of their mouths. A couple months ago this board was filled with posts about how 2022 was a giveaway season, MM was going to get fired early on, and we were just setting the stage for a new HC in 2023. Now after a 4-2 start it's like we should go all in for a short window like the Rams have done.

If a good opportunity is there Jerry/Stephen need to make moves to better this team no question about it. Making a trade just to appease the fans is not the smart move right now though. If Jerry/Stephen were going to cave to fans he would have went out and traded for another QB once the Dak injury happened and we would have most likely wasted a draft pick for similar or worse results instead of letting Rush do his thing.

How does anyone know it will be a sweet move?
He could get another injury, or just not be as good as many think he will be.

SF got lucky. They failed to get rid of Jimmy G. Then said, oh well we will sign you to a deal. Lance goes down as he was not looking all that good anyway. So Jimmy G steps in.
Many fans wanted him gone, but now are glad they have him.

CMC most likely will help, but we still need to wait and see.

More like we like ours guys because we know better than couch and armchair and basement GM's.
Appeal to Authority fallacy. Jerry is only in his position because he had the cash to acquire the company. He was no more qualified to be GM of the Cowboys than you or I when he named himself to that position.

We don't know how better or worse any of the couch, armchair, and basement GMs from here would do since none of us had the cash to buy the team and name ourselves GM.

Some interesting names there, and I do give you kudos for actually having targets and not just screaming for the Cowboys to do something.

I would love to land a guy like Isian Simmons, have there been any rumors of him being available? He is one that I fear might not come cheap.

Ogunjobi/Ioannidis seem to be pretty solid targets and probably more realistic targets than a Derrick Brown who probably costs us a 1st rounder + more

Quinn is the one I just can't see happening. Too much contract to take on to help what is already the biggest strength of the team.

SWEET??!

I thought RBs are dime dozen and overpaying for an oft inured RB his salary and what 4 draft picks is sweet..since when.,., we have little NEED right now what make trade just to make fans happy..

didn't we have this discussion with you and your Like thinking fans base in the zone saying our off season was horrible (historically bad offseason was the term), Rush sucked, and we had no depth, and our season was doomed because Jerry made no splash moves? same fans that said Rush was mistakes after game 1 if we didn't make splash trade for backup qb it was over,..,hmm same fan base stated we would start 0-3 maybe 1-4 because no way we would beat Rams and Bengals and possibly be last in our division. stupid jerry, should have blown the cap for fans own personal needs.

Umm hows that going? :muttley: Not well. if player who could change our future came available Jerry would listen can't think of any but for sure its not skill positions we have many of those , maybe a LG or NT but has to be win-win for both sides not going top make move for sake of doing so at any cost,.

we are 4-2 got oiur QB back Washingtons coming back and our toughest part fo the schedule is mostly behind us. what exactly do you think NEEDS to be done what to satisfy your Starbucks support group discussing sports, you needa fresh hot topic to discuss. lmao:popcorn::espn:
