Twitter: Jerry on possible trades

49ers just made a sweet move. Jerry forgets:facepalm: In the NFL sometimes it's an arms race. Dallas IMO. Just needs 2 moves...DT and wideout. Lamb or Gallop go down we're toast.

This! Last year’s final four featured the teams with the best WR groups. And if anyone goes back and really rewatches the Eagles and Bucs game with a focus on our DTs they’d see guys getting beaten especially on running plays.

Perhaps but hypothetically what happens if Parsons, already nursing a groin injury, goes down for numerous games? That would be a bigger loss than Dak's injury so sometimes it's best to prepare before things go wrong. Besides, adding a piece or two to this defense would only further go towards improving Dallas' chances this season. With upcoming contract decisions Dallas may have this year and next to make a run.....so while SF paid a heavy price to acquire CMC and just like the Rams did last season with getting OBJ and Von Miller sometimes you just have to go for it now.

But think about who teams are willing to trade for later round picks. These are players that have under performed, or they are soon to be FA and the team doesn't plan on re-signing them. And we would have to cut someone to do this, so your basically trading away draft picks for someone that will be a rotational player and would not be a major up grade over the person we cut. And they need to be a major up grade or why give up draft capital to get them.

The only position on D that would even start to make sense to trade for would be DT. And we would be swapping out t. Hill for another team's T hill so what would be the point?

I am not against trades but they have to make sense, not a trade just so they can say they did a trade.

And besides Donald, there is not a DT that would push us over the top as far as winning.

Where did I say trade a 1st or 2nd for a big name? Yet again you make crap up. Try reading the list of players I suggested, they are depth plus type guys who wouldn't cost a high draft picks while helping the defense.

Do yourself a favor and work on reading comprehension before typing as you keep making yourself look silly with your false claims.

Why would anyone read your drivel? You are consistently dead wrong about everything.

Hows that under 500 prediction of yours going?

Roy I know you and I disagree quite a bit, but you are reading my mind today haha. I'm all for the Cowboys making moves, but this make moves to just be aggressive and make moves talk is ridiculous and fans are talking out of both sides of their mouths. A couple months ago this board was filled with posts about how 2022 was a giveaway season, MM was going to get fired early on, and we were just setting the stage for a new HC in 2023. Now after a 4-2 start it's like we should go all in for a short window like the Rams have done.

If a good opportunity is there Jerry/Stephen need to make moves to better this team no question about it. Making a trade just to appease the fans is not the smart move right now though. If Jerry/Stephen were going to cave to fans he would have went out and traded for another QB once the Dak injury happened and we would have most likely wasted a draft pick for similar or worse results instead of letting Rush do his thing.

These same clowns that were all doom and gloom before the season and that say we will never win anything with Dak now want us to make some big splash FA trade and go for it?

well not the only one but finish an elite DT available there maybe 4 of them if that, you are right whose trading them and what will it cost and will it put us over the top?

Dallas has one weakness on defense. And it's defensive tackle WE DON'T GET ANYTHING FROM THEM. All we need is just one guy that's just above average and this defense will soar even higher. I think the guy coming that will help at least at LB is Damone Clark. I think this guy will rival Micah. You heard it here first.

He’s a part time GM. What do you expect. He sees a winning record and his star QB coming back and that spells success to him. It’s the same thing every year.

In his defense, other than maybe LG, we don't have a position worthy of trading draft picks, at least not now. I know some don't wanna hear it but he's right.

But I will say if I could get the Panthers to trade Brown for the right price.......I'm all in, hard.

You’re exactly right. Fans just love the idea of doing something, heck I’ve been there plenty of times myself so I understand the sentiment. When your team makes a big trade, it’s exciting and it raises the optimism of most of the fan base.

But it’s not always the best idea. And I’d probably feel more strongly one way or another if there was an actual name connected to it and not just talk and hypotheticals.

I don't get the dj moore stuff. We just paid Gallup , moore got paid, and cd supposedly a 1 so what sense does it make?

Derrick Brown is the one guy I really want. He's emerging as a Vita Vea type force.

The only question is how well he fits with our cap situation. You would have Brown cheap for another year and a half, but then it's time to pay up on a $20M+/yr "star" contract. I don't know how that plays with the other contracts we have on the books, or will have on the books (Parsons is going to be the NFL's highest paid defender after next season).

You mean the under .500 that almost EVERYONE predicted when Dak went down? Damn man, you really should be embarrassed to look at yourself in the mirror after posting.

Not in this case. We have a short window with Dan Quinn before he becomes a head coach elsewhere. The conference is there for the taking but we have a glaring hole in our run defense that needs to be addressed if we're going to hold up against Niners/Eagles down the line.
you arent wrong but who do you think thats available thats an improvement over what we have. The Bucs arent parting ways with Vita Vea nor are the Rams letting donald walk. usually when a player is good the team does whatever they can to keep them.

The time to do it was in offseason and the draft didnt fall our way. I mean Suhs still out there but i just havent seen a bunch of talent out there at our disposal maybe the guy from the panthers

We're not trading, but we could change our mind.

"A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways."

its none of our business if he is looking to trade. Why make that known to other gm's. Let desperate gm's come to him

everyone is so quick to bash Jones and seem to forget that the "answering reporters" world is not the real world
