Twitter: Jerry on possible trades

You go from "season is over (Tyron Smith injury)" to "we don't need anybody" so quick it makes your head spin.

I couldn't imagine falling hook, line, and sinker every single year.
That's because the season is week by week and changes in a instant. This ain't the NBA.

Not in this case. We have a short window with Dan Quinn before he becomes a head coach elsewhere. The conference is there for the taking but we have a glaring hole in our run defense that needs to be addressed if we're going to hold up against Niners/Eagles down the line.

weird how we’re always in short windows

The front office probably doesn’t tell him anything until it’s about to happen.

Derrick Brown is the one guy I really want. He's emerging as a Vita Vea type force.

The only question is how well he fits with our cap situation. You would have Brown cheap for another year and a half, but then it's time to pay up on a $20M+/yr "star" contract. I don't know how that plays with the other contracts we have on the books, or will have on the books (Parsons is going to be the NFL's highest paid defender after next season).

Well, you have this year, next year, and 5th-year option ( how much ? $13-15M ) and tag him one year ( 2022 tag for DT $17M). That gives you 4 years w/o doing a long-term deal. So over 4 years you'd pay around $35-40M at an average of about $8-10M, not bad for 34 years of service from an All-Pro player.

Yea he knows better...... His way has worked so well in the last 27 years.

And over that 27 years if fans ran the team like the couch GM’s on here we would get the 1st pick in the draft every year.
Averaging like 2 wins a year, but yet they think they still know better. :lmao:

Agreed about Derrick Brown but here are some names of defensive players that would be worth looking into so as to further improve the defense: ARI LB/SS Isiah Simmons (allow Parsons to play more DE or be a near the line pass rushing SS), LV DE Clelin Ferrell (run stuffing DE), PITT DT Larry Ogunjobi (gets plenty of interior line push), CAR DT Matt Ioannidis (DE/DT experience), LV S Jonathan Abrams (good pass defense ratings), CHI DE Robert Quinn (pass rush help).
Simmons is as much a fantasy as Brown. Ionannodis and Ioannidis would be decent additions. Ferrell isnt anything lol and definitely isnt a run stuffing DE. He wouldn't ever get playing time here over Golston. Just because a DE is a bad pass rusher, doesnt mean he is a good run defender. Some, like Ferrell, are bad at both. Abrams is a good player, but he is made of glass and S isnt that big an issue for us. I love Robert Quinn, but he is the last thing we need

So you think 0 for 27 is working out for the franchise?

I didn’t say that. I said fans on here would do worse. At least Jerry got us to the playoffs. Some fans on here would do no better than 2 wins on average. What did you not understand about that?

Yea ...... Jerry Jones is a good GM because he is not as bad as Dakattacks or Pappydog would be ..... Got it.

But unlike you ..... I think most people on this forum in Jerry's position would hire a person with years of NFL experience to be GM of this team and would not put our no nothing kids into positions they are not qualified for ..... But that's just me.
