Oh... now I understand. Better days ahead are pointing to the FIFA World Cup deal and things of that nature. Ahhhh.. okay okay, I get it. Yeah.

We won’t get better. He refuses to fully participate in three key pillars of building championship rosters in today’s league that go along with the obvious need to draft well:

1. Fully engaging in bringing in tier one FAs that address weaknesses on the team, especially in years that a player or two like that can put you in the SB.

2. Getting down into the minutia of the role of a GM. Knowing the ins and outs of every potential player available in the draft, free agency, and on practice squads. Jerry can’t tell you ish in any sort of detail about any player on any level of the sport. He uses platitudes and tired sports tropes to talk about professional football players. He sounds like your drunk buddy at the bar on Sunday watching football. He doesn’t know the nitty gritty or details on any player whatsoever, even ones on his own roster to include the starters, which tells you he’s isn’t doing the job. It’s one of the primary reasons he falls in love with hype over substance. Yet he’s the first and last filter for decision making in this organization and the most imbecilic and least knowledgeable person to be in that position.

3. Actually learning how to manage modern salary caps. Learn cap math like it’s quantum physics. Get THAT detailed, so that you can take advantage of FA opportunities that will make your team better or put them over the top. Instead, he takes the easy road and just doesn’t learn cap math because it’s hard and complicated. This would apply to Nepo Boy, too. It’s just easier to completely disengage from front end FA and while signing your own players to bloated contracts based on past performance than it is to speculate on a FA whose never played for you, while also doing the cap calculus necessary to bring in a Derek Henry, Saquan Barkley, or stud DT.

Of course, he’s far too lazy (or maybe better said is “lacking in motivation”), cheap, and senile to ever seriously engage in any of these points for improvement.

Call me crazy but I believe him ......... I think he's going all in next season. The key.......three mega contracts ( Parsons gets signed ) on the books. Return on his investment ........
  • New Coach
  • Top draft picks
  • plenty cap
  • Dak returning
  • Parsons gets a new deal
Besides, we are rarely consistently at the bottom of the division.

Not in his lifetime...................

This is true but I am hopeful mass empty seats and pressure from fans and media will force him into a corner

That was a complete embarrassment last night, all those Texan fans in the house pretty much puts an explanation point on this season.

He makes me want to puke. People are spending and have spent thousands and thousands of dollars of disposable income on this joke of a franchise for the last 30 years with nothing to show for it. I'm glad I'm not one of them. I can't imagine writing that check and then hearing "don't worry buddy, it'll get better soon!"

no they are not. this is going to be ugly. NFL is trying to figure out how to deal with the Giants, Cowboys thanks giving game, which is going to be a comedy of errors and keystone cops playing on the field.

jerry is going to make promises to make sure the seats don't empty as fast

Was this "we WILL be better" quote from last night?

Or 6 weeks ago? I can't tell, because he's been saying the same thing each week. Not his fault though....he's senile, and probably thinks it's 1995 (based on the stupid looking out of date suits he keeps wearing)

OP falling for it just like Jerry wants.

Color me shocked.
Anyone still here is falling for it, that's why we're here....just cause most of us don't act like spoiled brats, doesn't mean that we don't know what is happening. But, thank you for making sure those delirious fans that think they'll make a difference by constantly whining, are sure what is happening. You provide an important service for some around here, I'm sure they sure they're appreciation by showering you with likes. HELL, I'll give you one too!

We could see some micro gains IF:

1. We get a decent, hard-nosed, modern HC and Offensive system that overhauls the putrid offense we are running now

2. We hit on multiple draft picks in 2025 and get gains on ‘23 and ‘24 draftees more than we have seen to date (especially’23 smh)

3. We create decent cap flexibility through cuts that allow some additions of several solid FAs

4. We deploy a creative and savvy defensive coordinator that can get the most out of that side of the roster since it is under-funded

5. Focus on running the ball with a great RB so Dak is given every conceivable help so he can play at his best

6. Overhaul a complacent, individualistic, passive culture so that there is an ethos of work, preparation, and a commitment to fundamentals

7. Injured guys return to form, and we avoid the injury plague

Even then— the macro issues of JJ and the FO remain, so any success that would occur would be IN SPITE of them, not because of them.

The constant distractions, drama, and focus on everything BUT football won’t leave until the Jones family leaves Dallas— but, do the above and we might see a more competitive team next year.
So your saying there’s a chance?!?!

I bet the way you speak to people was so cool when you were in high school.

Can it be better, sure. Will it result in anything more significant than a single playoff game win.. nope.

What narcissist Jerry Jones said:

"...Rest assured we'll be figuring out ways to look for what we're doing wrong and improve on that. ... The bottom line is that we've got to get better. We will get better. There are better days ahead.
What narcissist Jerry Jones did not say:

"...Help me sell the usual line that I will figure this out. Take it. Run with it. Shoo. Do not ask me about hiring a GM who might do a better job than me. Shoo now. There will be better days ahead with me in it. I could not care less if there will be better days ahead it I am no longer here, continuing to enjoy doing things my way. Like always."
