Jerry on Zeke (after the draft): “No, no, not at all. That ship hasn’t sailed yet. We haven’t made a decision."

Exactly as long as it is on a prove it type deal I would be fine. If he cannot prove it he is gone.
If they do it, I think it would have to be incentive-laden. He's not going to want to go anywhere for a vet minimum deal, but if it's the minimum plus playing time, rushing total, scoring total incentives, it would be worthwhile.

I know some on here would be upset if he were re-signed, but I just want the best backs on the field, no matter who that is. If he isn't better than Jones or Vaughn or Davis, then just cut him.

Zeke's numbers were pretty good early in the season and he and Pollard made a decent combo although Pollard surpassed him as a player. It was only late in the year when Elliott was battling injury that his play really went down. I think he could play well enough for us early in the year before the injuries that happen to an aging player or the wall hits.

Through the first seven games (before missing the next two), he had 109 carries for 441 yards (4.04 per carry) as the lead back. He also started his TD streak and had 12 for the season. His numbers weren't great, but they were decent at that point.
He would be ideal in a third down and short yardage role given the roster.

Straw man. I don't see anyone wanting to hand Zeke a $10m deal or guaranteed money.
Im sure you’d be more than ok with penciling him in for a certain amount of carries and you don’t even have to see anyone else play to make that decision! The team finally got away and it’s time to stay away!

You can be sure you are wrong. You don't get to speak for me, holmes.

Zeke without all the Zeke hype is could be a good thing for the team.
But I'm biased. I'm still of the mind that Zeke carried this team from 2016 and not Prescott.

If you sign him and three backs are better than him, you cut him. Progress is only stopped if there are better players on the roster and they keep him anyway.
I would give the ball to Pollard, Jones, Davis or Vaughn before I would give it to Zeke.

No speed, no burst, limited vision....none of that has improved since he last played.

I'd sign a vet like Hunt before I call Zeke.

he's just saying that so zeke has some hope or some team in zeke's dreams might sign him. usfl or CFL might take him.

Why not bring back Emmitt Smith? He used to be the best back in the NFL.

Zeke's time is past. It happens to everyone. Some faster than others but Zeke was toast last year. Malik Davis was better than him even last year but politics kept Zeke getting touches. Zeke lost his speed and now lost his ability to consistently break tackles.

Zeke was one of the lowest players in the NFL for yards after contact (Pollard was actually the best) and broken tackles/attempt. That used to be his forte'. This isn't a one off as Elliot's numbers have been on a slow decline for years.

Its time for Dallas to move on from Zeke and probably for Zeke to enjoy retirement.

Not saying we shouldn't. Saying we don't know how those players will work out. No speed, no burst, limited vision may still be better than what the others offer against NFL defenses. Again, he was averaging 4.04 as a starting back and scored 12 TDs. Not just anyone can do that.
