Jerry Jones is being intentionally misleading but is telling the truth. Hiring Brian Schottenheimer is not the biggest risk he can take.
His biggest risk is hiring someone else as his GM and returning to his pre-Jimmy Johnson status. He has been adamant that he can winning championships without Johnson's influence for 30 freaking years. A 180-degree turn in management philosophy is a risk he absolutely does not want to make.
Schottenheimer's hiring? That is Jones being Jones. It will be hilarious if Schottenheimer gets pantsed at some point.
