Jerry said hiring Schotty is as big a risk as you can take

Jerry Jones is being intentionally misleading but is telling the truth. Hiring Brian Schottenheimer is not the biggest risk he can take.

His biggest risk is hiring someone else as his GM and returning to his pre-Jimmy Johnson status. He has been adamant that he can winning championships without Johnson's influence for 30 freaking years. A 180-degree turn in management philosophy is a risk he absolutely does not want to make.

Schottenheimer's hiring? That is Jones being Jones. It will be hilarious if Schottenheimer gets pantsed at some point.

i don't plan on listening to any of these press conferences this week but , well he is right in that aspect it is a high risk move but not in positive way, but it's just a much of A risk hiring a first-time head coach..

i don't see how any of the other first time HC hires are any less risk they're all on equal footing IMHO, none of them have proved anything yet, being anointed the hot name doesn't make you the better choice ,,we saw that in Slowic he and BenJ were both the 2024 hot item, now Slowic got fired.. many great coordinators failed at head coaching.

. hell we already seen the BIG list the failed college head coaches with big names failed in the nfl as first time NFL HCs

that's why my choices would have been a McCarthy type if BB would have been FREE or Pete C that was my choice but not really a big difference between Kliff, Moore, Ben , cohen, or Glenn.. all are big risk for failure as history says so.,

this is about as at a left field and divisive as the dan campbell 3 years ago and his new unknown staff. that's worked out pretty good so far so let's just hope..Jerry gets lucky this time.. no one's really happy about this hire but you just need to let it play out..

Being lazy and cheap is not the same thing as risk taking
when asked why shotty got hired jerry went on to talk about not missing any senior bowls or combines lol like what? what a clown show

exactly, being a great OC does not mean they will be a great HC. Some are awful as HC. Most fail.
I can only judge Brian by what the team plays like next season on the field. Also his game mgmt, and game plans.
I will also look to see if drafting is different, and if anything happens in FA.

This is his 1st season, so I dont expect much influence in FA or Draft, but it could happen, maybe a little bit.

Dont judge him too quickly , lets see what happens in 25.

:popcorn::hammer:

Same great risk taker that brought Lance and Mingo here.
yeah we really dont need jerry taking risks lol.
But jerry is just trying to make an excuse for what he see as a lackluster hire. And some have said jerry is not a risk taker anymore,
and he jumped on this as his big risk. Doesnt mean anything except to jerry.

He hired the guy after switzer, and campo, and JG, all had no HC experience. JG had very little coaching exp.

Brian has been around for years, which some see as a strike against him, but I dont.

I keep hoping that Jerry's decisions will prove to be right decisions. But I've long since ceased allowing Jerry's decisions to alter my mood. Win or lose, my reaction remains the same. I've adopted the Missouri state motto and my guiding principle when it comes to the Cowboys. "Show me."

So this is Jerry's version of all-in?
