Is Jim Harbaugh coaching him now and does he have that light's out defense? Because Kaep didn't take SF to the SB last year...
I knew folks would misconstrue this as a debate between Romo and Kaep. Understand, I think Kaep is a knucklehead and in no way compares to Romo as a QB, but he is another option for teams to look for a QB with deep playoff experience. IMO, he's asking for too much money after displaying how much of a pariah he can be, last season.

Ummm, yes he did.

Tony Romo has given up golf

“I don’t think about it as [giving up] golf. It’s just life. You want to give yourself the best chance to succeed on the football field.’’

Oh, I would agree with you that he cut golf down, especially in 2013 after the back surgeries to get healthy. He also stopped playing competitively soccer and basketball int he off-season.

Those statements seem to be more as hard-core participation, not for fun. The references they even give in the article you provided speak about playing golf on a tournament level. That is why I provided a link to article which is from 2015, a year later than the article you provided, which explains that Spieth, who is as professional as it gets, and Romo still play once in awhile for fun.

So he has been playing golf for at least two years now, just not competitively and not often. He was basically a amateur golfer that was competing in the off-season.

And now he's back in a tournament as well, meaning he doesn't see it as an issue to his back.

I suggest you study up on professional and amateur golfing in regards to what Romo has done, or is presently doing, if you want to be taken seriously. Although some of the statements you made are true in the strictest sense of the rules of the USGA, they are a stretch by any golf fan.
I am considered an amateur golfer by the USGA, play a few times a year and it proves absolutely nothing about the health of my crumbling back and it's ability to withstand a flag football game let alone an NFL game.
Romo is a very good "street" golfer but his professional buddies are being polite when they speak on the level of his game. What they are saying is he is significanfly better than the celebrity hackers they are used to playing with.

That's a reach. He tried out for one tournament. What else is there to do this time of the year besides go fishing? You are reading a little into it.

Doesn't appear it was a reach after all. Some of you should try listening to me once in a while instead of always looking to disagree.

Well he did retire, but it's still a reach to say he is back to playing golf. It was one tournament. :D

Don't get it twisted, you claimed me saying he was considering retirement due to being back to playing golf was a reach. All it takes is one tournament for him to be back to playing golf. If you think he just picked the clubs up that day to play in that tournament you're kidding yourself. He's been practicing and playing. He got back to playing golf this offseason when retirement started entering his mind.
