Jerry: This is a must win

Don't be naive, 100,000 thousand ticket sales, parking, food, beer, merchandise.....there's a reason why Jerry doesn't want to give up a home game to play overseas....he values money as all owners do, and that's why he wants home games more than anything else.....doesn't mean he doesn't want to win too..
As an owner, I would be saying this is a must win as well.

While playoff ticket sales are more expensive which generates more revenue, all playoff ticket sales goes to NFL which is divided evenly amongst all 32 teams.
True but ATT is one of the largest stadiums so everyone makes a few more bucks since more tickets are sold. These billionares need their money

Jerry flapping his dentures makes for bulletin board material for the Deadskins. Last yr last game with starters playing they embarrassed Dallas . Need to flip the script . Go up big early . Rest some starters by 4th quarter .

Scary to me to hear that degree of hype... here's why... you don't say those words about a game in which you think there's some chance you could lose.

Suggests over-confidence.

And, the reality is, you lose a playoff game, you go home. That's not this. We all know that.
If we win this game the Cowboys have a good shot at the NFC championship game. If we lose, start thinking about the draft. We're not going anywhere.

While I acknowledge the steeper hill... self-evidently so... no one is oblivious to that...

None of us are omniscient, and stranger, more unexpected things have happened.

Far more unexpected things have happened.

It's not a playoff game. But losing is like shooting yourself in the foot during the marathon. You're not out, but you crippled yourself. No one wants to go from a favorable position to an extremely unfavorable position overnight. You'll hear must win a lot under those circumstances.

So it's a must win and just what if Washington pulls everyone and it's an obvious tank job yet with all of our starters we just barely squeak by with the win.
I guess a win is a win... right?

Even old Granny knows that the Cowboys must treat this contest like a playoff game.
The Cowboys' players are "hot to trot" for this contest!:thumbup:Their "A" game awaits!

I think I agree with Jerry. We're not talking about just going to the playoffs. This is the difference in going to the Super Bowl guys..

This is most certainly a must win game.

It's really that simple.

There's really no "must wins" that make the Earth explode.

But I think we need to play solid, smart and execute. Let's call it a warm up for playoffs.
But this game really has no bearing for how we will look come playoff time. I can recall examples:

2014: Got extremely hot and swept the month of December, starting with Philly on the road. Completely shut out a real good Colts team. Ended with demolishing Washington on the road. But come playoff time, we looked very sloppy against Detroit and almost lost.

2016: Looked unstoppable at the end when it mattered. This team was rolling. Easily could have been 14-2 if they needed to win that Philly game. Came out as flat as can be in the Green Bay playoff game.

2021: Ended the season by completely destroying Philly on the road. Followed up by laying a huge dud to SF in the playoffs.

Okay so it's a crapshoot. Fine.

I'd still RATHER win in a convincing confident manner.

Doesn't really matter to the cowboys what I feel.
