Jerry just said about romo on the fan that he might be able to go at the end of the year.

That means no Romo this season. So all you people that have hated him since he took over and have blamed everything on him now have gotten their wish, Tony Romo is no longer your quarterback.

I think this sucks personally.

I just hope his back has healed and he can have a normal life after giving his all to this football team. Would love to see him come back and play again but life rarely provides what you deserve after three back traumas and two broken clavicles.

I feel they're holding him off. He should be ready soon but how can you stop the momentum the team has w Dak. I love tony and think the offense would be more explosive but it's hard to take out a guy who could end up being 8-1 when tony is fully healthy

I honestly think this was the same thing that happened last year. They pushed up his time table in case they needed him. They don't need him which means they don't have to rush him back. I honestly don't think he's ready to play at a high level right now. He's probably healthy enough to play if we were in dire shape but the more prudent move is to let him heal longer.

What it means to me is that if the training wheels fall off, they will roll Romo out there. If not, they will keep moving forward.

Yep. It says the same thing to me too. And it also speaks loudly that he would say this immediately following arguably Prescott's shakiest performance of the season. Now I have to wonder what Romo's reaction will be?

Really?

That really sucks man.... That isn't how I wanted this to go... So he isn't healthy and it is worse then they thought?

I was really hoping to see Romo again. I wonder if the team has known for awhile that Romo was done physically.

Exactly WG this just means they have extended Daks playtime.
They will continue to ready romo, or they should because dak could get hurt, and better romo than sanchez.

The smart thing to do is roll with dak and see if he keeps winning games.
It is no slight to romo.
And @ eebs, you are overreacting , Tony will be here next year and rest of this year, and you never know what might
happen.
Tony should just rally to the team and dak and work on getting ready to play and in top shape.
2017 will be up for grabs and tony could take the job back unless dak takes them to SB, and wins.

Well it was the last drive in ot for a td to witten after a scramble, and being 5 of 5 on that drive that did it.
also it is the 6th win in a row. even jerry knows that is very good.

I look at it like this. You can NEVER count Romo out. UDFA from Eastern Illinois, 10-year starter of America's team. As supportive as he is, do you think he's just gonna chill on his millions? Nah... We'll see how this plays out, but I think it's a smart move to let him rebuild himself back up to football condition.

I disagree. If Romo does not play this year Stephen Jones will not have him on the roster next year and they will release him. They did the exact thing to Demarcus ware. Stephen apparently was the guy who pushed ware out the door and I see no reason they would keep romo around at his salary and of course the speculation that would come with having him here with that salary not starting.

The Jones's will release Romo and it will be like he was never here going into the next training camp, that is how they operate. They have done it to all the vets that have left here. Romo will be no different because they have a new guy to be the face of the franchise.

Here is the quote. Not sure he said what you said he said theebs.

"Asked whether the Cowboys would keep Dak Prescott would remain the starter once Tony Romo is fully healthy on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas, Jerry Jones acknowledged the possibility of riding the hot hand but said, "I don't want to speculate on what we'll do when the time comes." Jones said he did not know whether Romo would be available Nov. 13 at Pittsburgh.

The fact Sanchez is still riding the pine and taking up a roster spot should tell you Romo still REALLY isn't 100 percent.
I think Romo's back is 100%. I don't think he's in good football shape. After looking at pics of him recently, his bulk and muscle tone (the little he had. lol) is not nearly what it once was.

So I think if we were trotting the Cassells and the Weedens out there and losing game after game, then Romo would be out there. Dak's performance is an unexpected bonus, so that Romo can get 100% football ready.

I listened to the whole interview myself on the radio. he said it right out, He was putting it out there that he might not be ready till the end of the season. that is jerry setting the tone for how this will be handled. Romo is not playing unless Dak gets hurt or is an absolute disaster. I do not think either will happen.

He is not playing this year and probably ever again here.
