"I'm looking at the possibility of, and probably more seriously considering it than I ever have, doing some bundling up and trading up," Jones said.
Jones said there are already two offers to trade out of the first round and receive a first-round pick next year.

This might be the way to go. With so much talent available in the 2,3, and 4 rds we could still get quality players and have 2 #1's next year. Especially if we could get a high 2nd this year. It'll be hard to get a starter @ 22. I could live with a first day like--

2 - S. Rice
2 - J. Blalock
3 - J. Wade

I agree that getting another 1st next year would be a great idea, especially if it ended up being a high 1st, and we could bundle some picks next year and maybe get a shot at McPherson.

I think it all depends on where these two teams are located, and where the 2nd rounder will be.

Because Jerry said right after that something about getting a 1st next year, and maybe using the 2nd combined with our 2nd to move up and still get a good player. i would assume that means late 1st or early 2nd if a 1st round talent drops.

Of course, who knows what to believe, this is probably the most confused i've been in a long time as to what we're going to do.

I think you meant McFadden and I would absolutely love to get him. He will be better than AP IMO. At least he seems more durable at this point.

Considering how much we would have to give up to get Peterson, and how often he has been injured, and the upright style he has that invites big hits, I would think the smart thing to do would be to get another first rd pick that could be used next year.

It's thinking like that that got us Quincy Carter. Jerry Jones, left to his own devices, is dangerous in a draft. We need to continue to acquire quality players in the draft, not start getting cute with draft picks.

I wouldn't mind this. And chance are we could use the 2 1st rounders next year more than this year. With both WR's another year older, Flo is older, last year of his contract. Ferguson is older, and may need a NT if no one steps up. And besides the Flo mention, we still need OL. And YES, if / Romo is not the long term answer, that is ammunition to trade up for a blue chip QB.

Sometimes people need some blinders. It works both ways, if your eyes are too wide open, you may go blind. just as if your thinking is way to open minded....watch it, your brains may fall out...

There is nothing wrong with making trades whether up or down. I never had a problem with Jerry Jones trading down. The problem was the specific players he targeted. He could have stayed pat and never made any trades, but if he targets the wrong player that is still a problem. Jerry and Larry Lacewell just had different definitions of who the best player availble was at any given time.

Trading to get that 2nd round pick in 2001 was fine. Using it on Quincy Carter instead of another quality player was the bad thing.

They are all still wrong? isnt that the same type of sweeping generalization youre accusing them of?

I'm all for trading down for future picks but adamantly opposed to trading down for extra pix this year. Future pix are undervalued; we got too damn many pix as is this year, given our needs (or relative lack thereof).

Do it, Jerry, do it.

Don't trade out of the first.

Stay put and draft the best guy there.

Like Ginn...If he's still there.:D

I'd bet on the Falcons are one of those two teams. W/ their 8th overall, they probably take LaRon Landry and w/ the 22nd overall, they'd have a shot at any of the WRs avail. (except for C.J.) for Vick. Atlanta has two 2nd rounders this year and if they're willing to part w/ one of them and a 1st next year, I'd do the trade in a heartbeat.....

and just because you hate jones doesn't make your every spouted critsizm RIGHT either. just because you disagree with someone you hate doesn't make you wrong. in this case, it just makes you highly annoying.

The Dolphins could be one of those teams as well. They have two second round picks this year, currently have the 8th pick in the second round and are looking to get an offensive lineman, safety or wide receiver.

They may also be willing to trade their next year's first because they believe they have a pretty good team, especially if they can make the trade for Green.

Old STSINAZ used to be a poster when I was at the Fort Worth Star Telegram. He can be one outrageous guy.

I'm new to this board and have only recently started reading the threads, but so far I haven't seen STS go nearly as crazy as he is capable of. When he starts typing IN ALL CAPS ALL THE TIME and talking about having conversations with God ( who discusses football with him of course, lol ) THEN you'll get the full STS experience.
