That would be a waste of a roster spot. The Cowboys could lose a promising young player.

Did that with Terry Glenn years ago. Supposed to be back for the playoffs. And was. And was totally ineffectual. And never played a down again.

Same with Anthony Spencer, I think.

Just on an empirical basis, I wonder how many times Jerry has said "he'll be back for the playoffs" for a guy who didn't make it to the field the following season.

Haven’t won the division in back to back years in 2 decades

Missed the playoffs 6 out of last 10 years

Saying that the playoffs are expected is a pretty big stretch when you’re being realistic. Especially after losing the LT when the team was already very thin across the OL
