Smart teams might say he's out for an extended period of time when he's not, to make teams ease off on their concern about the team. Or say it's not bad so they will waste time preparing for the wrong player.

There's three parts to a team, the offense has a lot of questions, no doubt. Special teams has some too, especially at kicker.

But it's entirely possible the defense can be very, very good. Hate to hang too much hope on that, but it's about all we have....

Remember injuries are part of the game and if our star-studded lineup cannot overcome the loss of Smith well then they were never a playoff team to begin with!
