What Jerry says and what might, actually, happen are often two different things.
I seriously doubt he has any idea about what to expect from Tyron this year.

I wouldnt blame him either.
Jerry will NEVER cut Tyron Smith though. He will have to retire.

If an NFL team loses its QB, LT, CB, WR or any of their ProBowl/All Pro players it will be a serious blow to them. Teams, schemes and rosters are designed with these players in mind. If you lose one then your are scrambling to create a new platform for all the remaining players to be successful.
It will be really difficult to bring someone in and recreate the Tyron Smith of 2013 to 2015. Right now it may even be impossible to recreate the Tyron Smith of 2021.
What will be interesting for the Cowboys mgmt is to see what the game plan is for week one, and whether they stay with the same game thesis of using the run to manage the offence and dictate the game.
