Zimmer had a top ranked defense in 2003........... #2 in points, #1 in yards. In 2005, they were #12 in points, #10 in yards. In 2007, Phillips' D was 13th in points and 9th in yardss. In 2009, his defense was #2 in points, #9 in yards.

Both guys put out better defenses than what Marinelli has.

We're talking generating turnover here, which apart from the odd year (last year under Marinelli we were pretty good) we have been poor/rubbish at under many DCs.

Jerry asking for turnovers to win a game?? Why not just outplay the other team toe to toe. Don't anticipate the opponents mistakes to help. Just go out on the field with a good game plan and play mistake free football and let the chips fall (no pun) where they may.
Sorry but where's the honor in hoping your opponent wins it for you? Look in the mirror and coach this team to be better. Take your own talents and overpower the opponent but hoping they make mistakes so you can have a chance, just honor in those words.

This. I hate to admit it but we walked right into Kelly's hands making his strategy look genius. Even the announcers and the NFL guys were saying it.
Just pitiful!!

Kelly's comments to Tafoya at halftime were pretty smug. He wasn't concerned in the least.

SMH...quit all of your dreaming for 'changes'. We ALL know how this season will play out. Romo comes back, does his best Houdini impression, covers up this current disaster and we go on a run of 5 straight to end the season. Just short on making the playoffs but more than enough for Jerry to praise the heart of this team for not quitting, announcing that Rod 'figured it out' and how Red did one heck of a job keeping this team focused. '2016-'17' will be the year of the 'boys! Stephen and I are so excited for what next year brings.'

Wow...Ground Hogs Day once again and unfortunately your probably right. And we'll all be sucking it in on here in April excited about next year. I implore everyone to watch these undefeated teams and those who have strong defenses. Watch the DB's and corners and how good they are at tackling and anticipating the pass and the ball carriers. It's just night and day.

So very true. Whether its coaching, or talent, the DB's on this team just don't make plays. And another thing, I would love to see a big run stuffing DT here, even though the scheme doesn't call for it.

Because our recent hires at DC have been mediocre. Kiffin was washed up. Ryan was overrated. Marinelli, I just don't know with this guy. One of his Bears teams led the league with 24 interceptions one year.

IMO, this entire thing has gotten stale. From Garrett on down. I am usually not one to make a change just to make a change but at this point, this franchise just seems stuck in neutral and Garrett is basically a .500 coach who just happened to have one really good season.

I just don't have much hope for the next 3-4 years, which is Romo's window.

The Bears led the league in takeaeays running a zone Tampa 2. We no longer run that system. We are a man coverage team
